wrybread
I'm wondering if its possible to control the LOR controller with 3rd party software?I'm guessing it uses DMX for control? If so, can I use other DMX controllers?I'd like to be able to write scripts myself using Python, and wondering if this is possible.

-klb-
The controllers can use their proprietary LOR protocol, which has several benefits, or they will auto detect if DMX is used, and respond to DMX.So you could use any DMX control system you like. You will probably want the DMX converter cable, as the pinout is not compatible with other DMX on cat5 systems.
mokeefe
I too am interested in developing some add on software. I'm thinking about trying to put together an Android app to use kind of like the Hardware Utility. Right now I drag the laptop out to the yard and use VNC to connect to the PC in the house for testing and debugging.I'm not sure the responses above really answer the original question. Does LOR provide any documentation for its native (or DMX) protocol? Any documents describing the file format of the various files (sequences, channel maps, etc.) also might be helpful.Obviously other people and/or companies have developed apps that have interfaces to LOR so they either obtained the info directly or reverse engineered it. Ideally the former would be more productive. Thanks.-Mike
