Mike Schmidt
I recently have broken another cat5 connector in a controller so I replaced that box with the xtra that I had. After replugging everything back into the new controller, addressing it to #7 (as the bad one was) of 14 total in the daisy chain and repowering up. I find that I do have a good blinking light showing that I do have good power. Then I powered up the program and I had a good steady light, showing me that I had communication. I did my tests and find that everything works up to the panel and beyond the panel, but just not that panel. I am sure I made this type of switch in the past without this kind of problem. Anyone have any suggestions? Am I just missing something simple? Any help would be greatly appreciated.Mike
cmoore60
When you do a refresh in the hardware utility. How many controllers do you find?I suspect that your controller is not addressed as you expect.Chuck
Mike Schmidt
Chuck, I too thought the same. As some of the earlier address pots were labeled just a little off and were easily missaddressed. However I have checked and rechecked and even set up one # and down one # just to see if that would work. I have since received a post from Dan and will try that tomorrow. His suggestion since it was a new controller is to turn off and rotate the ID pots 4 to 5 full turns and readdress to # 7 and try that. Thankx for your post ChuckMike
cmoore60
Might try also, if not a huge problem. Hook only the suspect controller up to the computer and see what address you have for the controller.Chuck
Mike Schmidt
Chuck; After attempting Dans Suggestion (which didnt work) I did as you had suggested and unhooked it from the chain and plugged it directly into the computer. It read as 03, then while taking notes I attempted to move the ID Switch to where I thought that 07 may be and nothing worked as it just would come up as just about everything else but the 07 addy that I wanted. It was looking as though I had a bad ID switch on a controller right out of the box. I then exerted a small amount of downward pressure while turning the ID Switch and that worked. Got it to the address that I wanted. Rehooked everything up and the 224 channel show took off at 5pm as it was scheduled. Everything looks great. I am sure that after the season LOR will repair that ID switch for me. Merry Christmas.Thank You for your help.Mike
