I get the following error when I open hardware

The serial port (Comm1) assigned to LOR has a problem.
You may need to select another port.

Open of serial port 1 has failed

Error: (8002) iNVALID PORT NUMBER
While: Executing Port Open Property

Is this when you open the Hardware Utility program?

Do you have the adapter plugged into the computer?

If not, that's why you see the message, nothing to worry about

If you do have the adapter plugged in for the first time, did you install the USB drivers?

Have you set up the Comm Port in the Hardware Utility?

Click OK on the error message.

Then with the adapter connected, in the upper left of the Hardware Utility screen, select AUTO CONFIGURE and it will find the correct Comm Port. Should be between 1 and port 15.
