Brian Mitchell
Have you run the LOR Verifier program?
Max-Paul
Shelly,Your statement is a little vague. Just what is shutting down? The computer? The control panel? Something else I am not thing about? Are you connected to the internet? Are there anyone using the computer that is running the show for other purposes like surfing the web. Playing games or using a productivity program like Excel or Word?
-klb-
Do you have the USB cable with the three large ferrites on it?Have you tried unplugging &reconnecting the adapter?Which version of the software are you using?

chartrand
Is it just the LOR program that is closing, or is the whole computer rebooting, or is the computer locking up and you have to reboot it to get things going again?I ask because it sounds like your CPU may be over heating. Open your case and blow it out with caned air. then while the case is still open turn on the computer and make sure the cooling fan above the CPU is running. Check the fan on the video card as well if there is one, to ensure it's running.-Pat
Shelly Kirchen
Thank you for all the responses I will try cleaning the computer out with the air can. We are also going to put it up on some wood blocks to keep air circulating all around it. We will see if this helps tonight.I do also have to mention that when the lights do shut down, I can not disable them and go into the hardware utility to check on this. I have to unplug the usb cord from the computer in order for the program to close so that I can restart everthing. We did not have this problem last year, and it would have to cause me all this trouble this year since I am holding a charity event along with the light show this year to help out families in need for the holiday! Thanks Again,Shelly
-klb-
What you are describing, especially in the last post is consistent with the USB port locking up from electrical noise. The USB cable with ferrites is supposed to filter out the noise and prevent the lockups. It was a really common issue reported here over the previous two years. If you already have one, move it further away from any electrical cables, and double check that power to the PC is wired right. If you don't have the filtered cable, get one pronto. Shelly Kirchen
Just wanted to say Thank you for your advice. I used the air can on the back componets of the computer and I also put the computer up on some small wooden blocks. The show ran non stop last night with NO PROBLEMS!!Shelly
