So this is christmas

I have heard a song called "so this is christmas" But I have no clue who sings it. I want to say something along John Lennon? But not sure. Can anyone help me. I know ALOT have sung it. but I'm looking for the famous one everyone knows. I know there is kids singing in it too.

I just realized it WAS John! And its called "Happy Christmas" I just bought the mp3 from amazon. Does anyone have the sequence, they would like to share?

It was a "Happy Christmas" when this song 1st came out I would think.

That is the one reason I do not want to use it. ........(War Is Over)....it isn't now.

It was different when the war in Vietnam ended........I believe the song was written for that reason.

For many soldiers Christmas will be on the battle field in Afghanistan or some other hot spot. They won't be home with there families.

My daughter is a "SERIOUS" Beatles fan. I asked her about this song and here is what she said:

In late 1969 John Lennon and his wife, Yoko Ono, rented billboards and posters in eleven cities around the world that read: "WAR IS OVER! (If You Want It) Happy Christmas from John and Yoko" to protest the Vietnam war. They didn't actually record the song Happy Xmas (War is Over) until 1971, the words the background vocals sung were taken directly from those billboards.

Here's the words from the refrain:

"A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear"

We used this song this year as John Lennon would have been 70 years old on October 9. My daughter also insisted that we have Paul McCartney's "Wonderful Christmastime".
