Rob LaRe
I've got a CTB08 V3 (the 1st card I ever bought from Dan) - tonight it has stopped responding. The LED status light is steady - the rest of the controllers linked after it are are still functioning. It does not show in the hardware utility either with all of the other controllers are when it is the only one plugged inJust for giggles I did replace the fuse.Any ideas? Thanks,Rob

Rob LaRe
Appreciate the link. Not thinking it has anything to do with the firmware though. It was working fine yesterday and haven't tried to change anything - just stopped functioning. basis21b
Assuming this is a CTB08 and not a CTB08D, I had a similar problem a couple of years ago. Dan answered me on Black Friday. Here is Dan's email to me:Is it in the middle of a chain, at the end of a chain? Have you gone directly from the adapter to the controller? As you know it seems like it is no longer getting communication from the PC.There is a little two pin jumper on the card. If the jumper is not in place try putting a jumper in there or wrap a little wire around it if you do not have the jumper. See if that helps. If it does then go into the Standalone section of the hardware utility and click the delete button.
kzaas
I don't have one of those boards but can you do a master reset on it like on the CTB16's?

All the other versions of the CTB08 can only be firmware upgraded by replacing a preprogammed chip ordered from LOR.

It's the 1st controller in the chain and is attached directly to the adapter. I always thought a solid red led indicated it is communicating with the PC? I checked and the jumpers are still in place. I tried having this be the only controller in the chain and still doesn't show in hardware utility (again it was working fine the day before) I also tried unplugging each channel individually and no change - any point to unplugging them all and trying to plug in one channel at a time? Attaching image of card - note: solid red ledAny other ideas / thoughts?
Rob LaRe
Christmas Magic????Tried force setting the ID again this morning (with this controller being only one hooked up), ran the search and on 2nd time controller 01 magically reappeared! Now why it decided to do that this morning and not yesterday or why (and I'm assuming) the id had changed in the first place, I have no idea...but just going to roll with it Thanks again to all those that posted their thoughts / ideas.-Rob
LightORamaDan
ettThat picture brings back some old memories. That was the type card I used in may display and I believe the first model we developed and sold....Glad it is still working okay for you (although it appears it had a bit of amnesia!)...Dab
