Can I run two controllers with same address for same effect? PM or post please, thanks Roger

I don't know what you are trying to do if you have the same address for the controllers then you can pretty much get rid of one controller because they are going to fight against each other to see which one is going to work your lights, if you are asking about having the same effects with the controllers to make your lights do the same thing than yes but again I am not sure exactly what your question is here

One application would be to have the same effects running in two different sections of the display, without have to copy and paste the same sequence commands again.

This time of year, quite often it is easier and quicker to do a "down and dirty" technique in the interest of time and ease of setup. Been there, done that!

The reason is just to save on running zip cord, I have 16 archs 8 per side of a walk way, arch 1 & 9, 2 & 10 etc run the same. I have a extra controllers and just to keep from running so much zip I am going to use controllers.

Thanks all, back to work if I am going to light up tomorrow night again THANK YOU

Well I just learned something new today makes perfectly good sense I stand corrected

lol Hang around and read the forums. With a few more years experience........

I decorate for 5 holidays, so I'm using a least some of my 30 controllers all through the year, and experimenting with others all the time. Easy to learn all kinds of undocumented and/or officially not supported by LOR shortcuts and "tricks".

Makes perfect sense I didn't even have that thought pattern today should have stayed off the forum today my guys cost me a lot of money today put one screw in the wrong place a presto $$$$$$$$$$ dollar signs everywhere but at least I did learn that the controllers can be addressed the same and work very well.

Thank you Mr. Bullard for enlighting me, oh by the way you have a gravy stain on your shirt LOL

I ran two with the same address last year with no problem. I will be running two with the same address this year. A show in the front yard and a show in the back yard.

As others have noted, yes, you can. However, there are a couple caveats:

(1) The Hardware Utility won't react well to it. Make sure to have only one such controller hooked up when you run the HWU.

(2) You will be unable to use input triggers.
