If i were to buy the card assembled (complete package) $205.95- and the SPK-ST generic starter package$43.85, isn't that the same as the 16 channel starter package $377.80?? It looks to me like the only diff is the length of the Cat5 cable.I want to buy this tonight but want to make sure that i am getting everything i need to have a better show than my current setup. i have an FM transmitter.

If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks, Dave.

Dave,

The difference is the controller, they are different versions. They do, however, respond to all LOR commands, so there is no worry there.

Purchasing the PC Complete board would give you the same effects as the Showtime based 16 channel starter kit.

The cheaper route is what I have done, as have many here.

Here are some threads discussing the differences between Showtime and PC controllers (not much for the average residential LOR display):

Ok thankyou for the help. I am very excited about this.

You're welcome, and welcome to the LOR madness! Ask lots of questions and make lots of contributions. Most are quite helpful here. It is also helpful if you update your profile to include your location since that helps people customize their help based on your climate.

Oh and I almost forgot...buy lots of extension cords.

Here are some sources of sequences that people have made and uploaded to share:

Most don't include the mp3 audio file, so you have to buy that off itunes, amazon, walmart, etc. for about a buck each.

Make sure you watch some of the tutorials and guides here too to get some of the basics:
