Lightorama Addict

This is my first year doing all this. Funny thing was I got the controller from my family for xmas last year! LOL As I messed around with it a bit over the year......I was almost overly intimidated by all this. Until tonight. I hooked it up.......and started my practice show for my family. (THINKING THAT SOMETHING WOULD BE WRONG ALONG THE WAY) But everything went off without a hitch! I am in awe! My wife and kids are way into it now also. And even though I was scared to death, and figured I better start with 16 channels.........I am planning on adding 3 more controllers for next year. Once you see your own house with a lightorama display, it becomes something more than just watching all the others that do it I watched on the net.

Another thing. Everyone here and lightorama have been great! Without all the great info,sequences, and suggestions I found here...............I would have never been able to get this to come together! So thank you all!

it don't take much does it. I am starting this year with 48 channels. I have seen each different controller run the entire show by itself just to test. I am waiting to hook all them together so I can see them all together at the same time everyone else does. That will be Sat, nov 27th at 7:pm.

This is my first year as well. To be honest I don't even know how I came up with the idea of wanting to do this, but you're right, everyone on here is awesome. I have 90% of my lights up and all i'm waiting for is my box. Hopefully my show turns out as well as yours did.

I can admit that i'm addicted. I've been up until 3am most nights working on my sequences and designing everything. My first show is Wednesday, hopefully. Good luck to both of you!

Hahhaaa I know what you're saying. I was pretty sure my wife was getting a little ticked at me. Until she actually saw it. Now she is all over me to add songs and telling me that next year we should add lights! LOL

I'm having a blast with this.

Think our wife's could be sisters! Mine wanted NO part from Jan - Oct 15th. NOW all of a sudden, we need to do this & this & this & next year & we had more lights & we need something on the roof! Slow down lady!! LOL. Also my 1st year and when I did Halloween I knew I was screwed for the rest of my life! 3rd Mortgage, I'm heading your way.....

2010 is my second year with LOR.. I used a Mr. Christmas box the 2yrs prior which got me hooked on music-to-lights, I just wanted my own music to choose from, so the canned midi tunes had to go.. Last year just before Thanksgiving I started with an assembled CTB16PC, bought a second 16PC kit a week later, and a third a week after that.. During the 2010 Sales I added five more -16PC kits and one DC card for my LED Flood and Spotlight kits, but I'm NOT addicted, I'm not!! I can stop any time I want! I just dont want to!!

The wife said WHY am I doing this??!! But then I had to pick her jaw off the floor the first time I turned the lights on.. the kids, well, they just shake their heads and sigh "Dad's gone over the edge.. again.."

I just traded a brand new hi-tech stove for the rights to several LOR items to be named in the future.. Also helps if when UPS comes, the wife is working and I am home before she is, and quickly assemble/hide the controllers!! :shock:!

Bwhhahahaaaaaaa WOW! I am glad I am not the only one. I actually called LOR asking how long it would take to get another controller! (MY WIFE DOESN'T NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THAT THOUGH!!)

Right now I have been kicking myself with the crappy FM transmitter I got, so I am trying to get another one of those sent before next week. PLEASE LET RAMSEY BE BETTER)

Last month I was looking at christmas display on YouTube and came across a christmas light display that made me tear and the had a glare face of joy. His site said Putting Christ Back in Christmas. Man that hit me hard, I emailed him and thanked him. I just received my 48 and spent almost $4000. Don't go to bed until midnight, get up at 6 am. Research, play with the program til noon, go to work and continue learning and researching on this site. Everyone is very helpful, no one think about themselves, best site I ever joined. Thanks all. I am very sorry to hear about your loss Bcspy! There is nothing worse than having to deal with something like that. Maybe all this (the lights) will help you cope with things. When you sit back and get done with the display,............it will for sure help regain your spirit my friend! Keep your head up. Have fun! And have a great holiday season.

My wife is addicted as much as i am. This is our first year and she was right beside me when we bought 5 controllers at the SALE. although she is a little late sequencing her first song.. Maybe I should have gave her Twinkle Twinkle little star instead of Christmas Eve Sareavo. LOL
