Here is here I got mine at:

It works great, I live off of a high way and I have had no issues with it. The one is not exactly what I got, it is a little cheaper, but the same product.

I also have the same unit - "Ele" 1/2 watt. I'm not a "crazy sound" guy - people RAVE about the quality of the EMD and Ramsey, but for 50 bucks, I think these work great.

Oh yeah - they are NOT LEGAL. 1/2 watt is way over the FCC part 15 rules. So be carefull, use comon sense, and DONT try to put a bigger antenna on it. You dont want the Men in black knocking at your door.

I bought mine off e-bay - came from china, took about 2 weeks.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. I kept the same antenna on it and you get pretty good range with it. If you have to, you can alway put your transmitter outside in an enclosure and run it like that.

I have an FM30B that I can part with. It's been used 2 seasons and in perfect conditions sat on shelf last year as a spare and I don't think I need it any longer.
$225.00 obo + shipping.

I agree! By far the best! Better than the whole house and cheaper on eBay! Mine is 1/2 watt too. But with the antenna that it comes with, if you don't rase it all the way up, the distance is not as far. Which is a good thing! I think I paid $50 with shipping and all for mine, from china too! I don't have the dials, but buttons. I love mine to death! I would buy it again and again! Well made and designed! For the price! I cannot notice any sound issues!

For those of you who are naive about transmitters. Not tuning the antenna for the frequency that you are transmitting can cause what we call a high SWR. This then reflects power back into the finial amplifier transistor. Thus in turn cause it to over heat and fry itself. Now you have no output. I would assume that extending the telescoping antenna the full length will tune the antenna. .5 Watts is a lot of power. Unless this radio has a fold back circuit on the power out when there is a high SWR. Your radio will I predict have a short life. You would be better off spending a few bucks more and get an inline attenuator that would drop your signal back down to something more reasonable. So, in the long run. You end up paying almost as much as someone that bought a radio that is legal. Kind of reminds me of that old saying. You can pay me now. Or you can pay me later. Either way, you will end up paying me.

BTW if you want to drop this transmitter down from .5 to .05 watts (aka 50mW) then get yourself a 10db attenuator. And a 16db will get you down to about 12mW.
