Tune to Sign

I had my Graphics Designer try and come up with a sign for me and this is what she came up with. Thought it was really cool so I thought I would share. This is going in a backlit box and hung on my North Pole, hoping that it will look cool.

How do you have it displayed? Is it on poster board with a flood in front? Very nice graphics :)

Duh.. I re-read your post and you already said it's backlit. What materials are you using?

I am taking the image down today to a local Sign shop and they are hopefully going to be able to print it on a Backlit or Translucent Vinyl which will be attached to a piece of plexiglass. Once I have the plexiglass with it on there, I just built a 18"x27" box that has a 50 string of mini lights evenly spaced through the box. After that it will hang off my North Pole that I built.

I really hope they will be able to do it, not sure what I will do if they can't.

Thanks for all the responses, I am pretty excited for it. Going to be hanging lights this weekend, should have majority of my display up by Monday. Figured I might as well start early in case things dont work out as planned.

It doesn't look like I am going to do the print on Vinyl, it would cost to much for all the different colors. I heard about some material at Kinkos that is translucent, I was thinking I could just have it printed on that and then smash it between two pieces of Plexiglass.

Has anyone had there sign made this way? I just wonder if it would come out looking good with the mini lights in the box.

I had my sign printed on clear vinyl at my local sign shop then put it on lexan. it was around $100 for two signs to be printed. I didn't think that was to bad, plus it looks awesome.

I will have to call them and see what that would cost. Are your signs backlit as well? I just went to Kinkos and they do have a translucent material thats plastic type. They said that's how they make there backlit signs. $15 a square foot for it. I will call the sign shop again and see what they can do.

Thanks for the heads up!!

Hey ryan, my sign is backlit. I am using 4 fluorescent tubes. they are 18". keep in mind I dont have super cold weather here that may affect the type of light you are using. Just print the image where it will be on the inside of the glass in your sign.
Also search New F.M. Sign and you will see more pics of my sign, SORRY i tried to attach a link just couldnt get it to work.
