olracs Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Adding sequences in to show with the MP3 tab in Hardware ultility. As soon as I add a sequence it says checking " the sequnce is highlighted with a green background and takes 4 to 5 minutes to put it in the sequence box. Man! this would take for ever, last year and before went very fast. Is there something I need to know?
TJ Hvasta Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Um, I'm not sure what you're trying to do.. the Hardware Utility is not for running any sequences/shows.. it's strictly to test your hardware. On, Off, Twinkle, Shimmer, Controller channel test..Are you meaning Simple Show Builder or Show Editor??

Don't know for sure, but if I remember right, the hardware utility has to first erase the card before loading the new shows to the card.
olracs Posted November 9, 2010 Author Posted November 9, 2010 I can rule out that it is the SD card. I am using version 2.8.12 , it is different in one aspect when making a show for MP3 player. And that is when uploading sequence a box will open saying, Checking, for that sequence. And that seems to take for ever! I'm baffled why it is so slow. Attached files
George Cotton Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 I had a similar situation. After what seemed like a couple of minutes, the HU came back with an error saying it could not load the sequence or something similar and aborted. I had to do this a couple of times to remember to see which sequence it was. I then tried just that one sequence instead of the "batch" to verify the bad one.The SE seemed to understand everything, but apparently there was something that just didn't add up during the convert to the SD card format process. So I opened the mp3 in my audio editor and re-saved it without changing anything. After that, the HU ran through the entire set of sequences in normal time.Apparently there must have been a bit of data that was not correct. I strongly suspect it was the ID2/ID3 tag as has been mentioned in another thread.Hope this helps.
olracs Posted November 9, 2010 Author Posted November 9, 2010 George, I use Audacity, I saved again , nothing changed, is there another Audio program you use?
TJ Hvasta Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 Hey, when did they put those other tabs on HU?? My bad, I dont use a Director.. always wondered how you load show.. I may consider going that route, free up a computer.
Jim Hans Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 I am using the Director as well. I can't imagine why it takes so long for you. When I do it it only takes a second or two to verify each sequence as it is loaded. Maybe its the size?? Mine are only 3 or so minutes long and 80 channels.
George Cotton Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 I use a commercial program to do my audio work. You might try one of the free ID Tagger programs to update or clear the ID tag that's embedded in many mp3's. I leave mine in so they display properly in the folder views.I've also read on here that some mp3's purchaed on the iTunes site have a funky format in the ID3 tag that needs to be cleared.Hope this helps.
bob Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 Does this happen on all sequences, or one in particular, or what?Could you please send me (bob@lightorama.com) a copy of a sequence that it happens on, so that I could take a look at it? Thanks.
