Stuck on CCR

Yes I am a newbie. I have put together a musical sequence for 32 channels. I also have a some canned sequences from LOR. However I can not figure out how to incorporate my two CCR's. I looked through the various information, but can not find my answers.

I thought I could just add more channels inside my current sequences, but I can not figure out how those added channels will send information to the CCR. What am I missing here, maybe I do not understand fully how to run the CCR.

HELP please!

"Running" the CCR is a matter of programming the CCR's channels, similar to how you program ordinary channels. I think it's a bit late in the season to expect much if you haven't even lit one up yet.

As far as adding it to your sequence: if you only program using one track then open up a sequence, go to the last channel you have and right click on the channel name. Go down to: insert device > insert device below. In the dialog box, if it doesn't default to cosmic color device then select that. Set the unit ID and push okay. Leave the other default settings alone. Then, scroll down to the last channel of that CCR you just added and do the same thing to add the second CCR. That will get both CCR's in the sequence for you to program and also set their channel assignments at the same time.

As far as physically connecting the devices, daisy-chain them along with your other controllers.

Thank you, that helped alot.

I was told that I could get away with only using 10 pixel channels instead of 50. Does this sound OK?

How do I set each channel with a number. If I want channel 155 (color effect) to twinkle greeen I know I use number 2, but how is that number shown on the channel in the sequence?

A CCR has 50 pixels and 50 RGB channels. To address each pixel individually you set the resolution (channel 151) to 50. If you dont want so much detail you can set the resolution to 10 which means control all 50 pixels with the first 10 RGB channels. So each channel will cause 5 pixels to light. The channels retain their number, they just do differing things depending on the resolution. You can change the resolution within a song if you want to.

One reason to use few channels on a CCR is if you are replacing standard arches which had that number of channels. Just like the standard arch your ccr will hop between segments. It will allow you to use an old seq with few changes. However this loses the CCRs best feature which is smooth sliding arch with no hopping around.

To use a color effect, you leave the 50 RGB channels all off. Set color effect to your effect. Make sure you also set the color intensity to 100 or as bright as you want. Zero will make it appear off like its not working.
