Bobbyp47
Are you guys making your cords or what? I have seen some videos and thats what it looks like. I notice Extension cords are like $14 for a 100' cord, so what do I buy?

amcdonald307
Plan on buying a good store bought 3-prong grounded cord to run from the outlet to your controller. From the controller to the light strings themselves you can use cheap 2 prong cords (usually labeled "Indoor use only"), common to find 6' and 15' in the store. These are about the same as the ones we build ourselves out of spt wire.It might behoove us if you would tell us a little about your set up - you have one controller, how many lights do you plan to plug into it? On one outlet? (we want to see if you are reaching a dangerous level and be able to advise you better, more tailored to you). It seems like you've had this plugged in as a static display, likely end to end, so you are probably safe.Do you have the layout in your mind, know where the controller will sit, planned how many outlets to plug the controller into, and just wonder what type of cords to run from each light string back to the controller? Bobbyp47
I will just run the roof off 1 channel and the Front off 1 channel and the windows off other channels and each bush off each channel. Try to keep it simple until I fig the system out. My Question about the cords is from the controller to all the lights and I have a big yard...lol
HowardShank
Placement of your controllers may become important. Last 2 years I've run mine from inside the garage out to the yard, but this year with adding 10 controllers I'm moving some of the controllers out to the yard for specific channel dense areas like my mini-mega tree and light rings. kissfan4
this is my first year with LOR and i was wondering about extension cords as well when i priced what i would need i was looking at around $100-$150 for cords. then i read a post about making your own with spt wire so i began pricing it. i was lucky enough to find two 250' spools on sale at lowes for $25 each then i just ordered the plugs online. all in all i spent roughly $60. plus they are easy to make. takes about 2 minutes per cord depending on how long of a run it is. knyurk
Led holiday lighting.com has 1000 feet of spt2 on sale $100 with free shipping. I just ordered my second spool. Get it before it is gone they say only 10 spools available at the price.

JOHNLNRD
My roof is done in led's, 8 channels with about 400 lights per channel. I controlled them with 2 runs of 18/8 control wire. 1 pair per channel. cheap & worked great last year. beat running 8 50 to 100 ft. cords
