Big D
Hi,This is my first year to have my own house for Christmas (recent college graduate), and I am looking to decorate it for this Christmas.I came across light-o-rama during my research today. I can't wait to get started. The reason for this new thread is to see if anyone knows of a company that sells like a package deal of lights or anything? I can already tell that this can get pretty expensive fast. I would like to do my entire setup for no more than $1000 but its not looking good already.Any comment and/or suggestions is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your taking the time to read my post.Dustin
Gary Levelius
Dustin, it is indeed doable. Light-O-Rama sells small starter packages (16-32 channels) as well as a selection of pre-programmed sequences that come with the music files. There's also a website, www.lorsequences.com that offers many sequences that others have done. All you need to add to them is the music. As for lights, just check your local big box stores. You can pick up incandescent lights pretty cheap these day and get enough to do quite a display. Then save your pennies and get even better the next year! TJ Hvasta
Yep,First, welcome to the greatest group of just-not-right people on the planet!Gary's right. LOR has a couple kits that are complete you-build ($100), a you-build-a-little($179), a you-build-very-little ($205), and a you-take-it-out-and-plug-it-in kit ($249).. The last would be the fastest and still give you a lot of $$ for lights.http://lightorama.com/ShowtimePC.html is the main kit page.. I would recommend these.http://store.lightorama.com/locolico.html is the commercial versions.. pricier, but tank-like. $329www.lorsequences.com has many shared sequences to use. You probably have the music already, if not, Amazon cuts are usually .99..
