Austen
This year, I'm happy to say that I've picked up a charity: Hoffmann Hospice.I want to add a 'donate' button on my website, but am a little uncertain on a few things. What is your opinion?:Should I add a Paypal donate button to my website, and when you donate it goes to my paypal account, then cash it out and give the donations to Hoffmann?Or should I link to Hoffmann's donate page and you donate directly to them?I don't want people thinking that I'm keeping all the money, I want them to know it goes to them. But I also want to track how much money I was able to donate to them..What do you think I should do? Dale W
Unless you register with your state as a charity, I would recommend that you link to the other site. While I don't think it is an issue with the Christmas decorators here, you would appear more legitimate by doing this. Without being credentialed by your state, you could incur unwarranted scrutiny or headaches. When I was in a civic club years ago, we had let our registration lapse. When we were doing some fundraising, it was brought to our attention. It could have been a very costly legal affair if not for our immediate action. gizmomkr
We do a canned goods drive for the local food bank. We think people are much more likely to donate food than money. (especially these days)
