huskernut
on the other hand, they are of course running a business so it wouldnt be out of line for them to charge me for the part if I broke it.

Hands down LOR is *the* best company I've ever dealt with.
jeffl
Just and FYI on this. Once you get it fixed, run a bead of hot glue along the top of the cat5 connector and the circuit board.I also zip tie all cat5 cables to the controller enclosure as well in case they get tripped over. Thats the only point I was trying to make.
gizmomkr
My first thought was - I could really use an extra couple Triacs, maybe a com chip. Then I thought - well I should probably just order an extra kit. Then I thought - If I have an extra board lying around - I will just find 16 more things that I CANT LIVE WITHOUT in my show. Now I'm back to thinking an extra Triac would be good to have. Dave Batzdorf
I picked up a couple of 8 channel controllers a few years back. those are my emergency ones. just program them to the same controller number and I am back on the air.
jeffl
I had one plug get pulled one year. It worked as the last on the chain for the year.I always have a spare board on hand just in case. Luckily I just found it yesterday while digging for other parts.
bisquit476
They are also available from Mouser for less than $1 eachhttp://www.mouser.com/Search/ProductDetail.aspx?R=5520260-4virtualkey57100000virtualkey571-5520260-4To keep from pulling them out, you might try this adapter, it is weatherproof, and will mount to a controller box allowing you to remove the cat5 cable without touching the controller board.
