Ralph Priest
Hello Nova5,you may have to go online to order those green lights, especially if you want 50 or 100 count. CDI has them in stock--I know because I just bought a case.
Nova5
No, they never have them in LED. I've been through Lowes as they setup the christmas area and through the season (Builder, get parts regularly there) and never in 4 years have i seen green LEDs. Green incans yep. LEDs nope.I have 8r 8b 5w... a box of CDI's greens would give me 12g.. not enough for house and tree.. although last years tree was weak..

LENNY RUEL
Green is one of the most expensive colors to make and the big boxes only want one price point for a particular brand or bulb count of light strings. A green string may cost 3 or 4 bucks more per string to make, where it's easier to average out the cost of the other colors to come up with a price.Last year Walmart had all of those mixed boxes of the 5M concaves people where raiding to find the 2 or three green strings in each. They had about 14 or so blues, a half dozen reds, and anywhere between 1 and 3 boxes of green in each case. Other than us most people that just put up lights wouldn't understand seeing a seperate row for greens and why they are marked 25% higher.Lenny
Nova5
Not sure how they can be so much more expensive unless they make the LEDs own color green to match the plastic diffuser tip.

LENNY RUEL
The color is not determined by the defuser tip but by the chemical make up of the material used to make each color. Kind of like fireworks where different chemicals burn in a different color. Same reason that there are different electronic components in each color string, it's what it takes to make the color light. Supposedly you can make similar groups work together, like red, yellow, orange (hot colors) or blue, green (cool colors) but mixing them would cause burn ups. The defuser just gives you a larger lighted surface as the Led as you know is about the size of a pencil eraser. You could probably put a bunch of plain LED bulbs in a dish and have trouble picking one up and telling what color it really is. The components in Green are a lot more expensive than others. For instance in Paul at CDI's presale a 70 count C6 string in green was $9.25, blue was $9.00, Multi was $8.25, while orange and red where only $7.50. I bought a couple cases of 100's in C6 and green was $13.00 while red was only $10.25For us it probably would not be a big deal if the big boxes had them by price per color, but the majority of their customers would do nothing but ask why.Lenny
