BaldEagleChristmas
This is my 2nd year and I just, tonight, started programming 6 arches. Do to an operator error, I somehow started programming in the middle of the first arch, thinking it was the beginning of the arch. Okay, I thought, no problem, I'll just cut/paste what I have and move it to the right. But with cut and copy I got the message "Data from an encrypted sequence cannot be copied/cut except on the sequences's originating computer." I am only using one computer and as far as I know I didn't encrypt anything.I did get a new computer this year, so the sequence that I'm editing was originally written on another machine and then copied to my new computer. But again, nothing was encrypted that I know of.How to I fix this or work around it so that I can cut/paste my programming? Thanks.
wallleyes
Its because your new computer is not licensed.License your new computer and then send the song to lor and have them remove the encryption on it.
-klb-
Actually, it is because the first computer was not licensed. Or some computer you have worked on before this one, was not licensed. Modifying sequences in a demo copy encrypts the sequence so you can't use the demo software, then import the sequence into some other show player. The first demo system that wrote the file should be able to copy/paste, and if licensed, should write out a un encrypted version.
Brian Mitchell
Email the sequence to support@lightorama with an explanation and they will most likely remove the encryption for you.

The 2009 sequence was written on desktop A; copied to a laptop to run the show. Both computers were registered with a basic licencse. This would seem to be supported by the fact that I could copy the file and run the lights. This year I got a new computer Desktop B and upgraded to a standard license on both Desktop B and the laptop. I again registered them both online and since they both say standard license, I pretty sure they're registered, but I can reverify this when I get home.To my knowledge, I've never used a demo version. I can't go back to Desktop A where the sequence was originally written since that machine is destroyed. The only other variable I can think of is that the sequence was originally written in ver 2.6.x and I have now downloaded am using 2.8.12. When I first saved the file the system asked if I wanted to save to the new version, and I said yes but that all seemed normal.Mike

I guess I'll have to try that. Boy, I hate to lose a whole programming evening while the weather outside is so crumby.Mike

We changed this so that now (in newer versions) only the Demo level does; the Basic version no longer does.

In addition to your reply, I got a note from Dan who said to send the file in and pretty much "Bob will take care of it" . . . so . . . it's on it's way! Thank you. wglyons
It never ceases to amaze me how supportive and helpful the guys at LOR continue to be. I know of a few multi-billion dollar corporations that could stand to learn about Customer Service from the LOR staff...Greg

I sent my file to Bob at midnight last night and had it back a few minutes after 9:00 this morning. I'm going home now to try it out!
