LED C7's

Last year I made all of my gutter lights and garage door strands from the c9 Dimmable LED bulbs from LedHoliday Lighting... Very happy with them.

This year my intention was to replace all of my window lights with LED (last year I used the GE Efficient Minis from Target)

My thought was to go with c7's but after pricing the screwable dimmable c7s with the wiring I was going to spend near $800.

So I started looking into the sealed c7 strands (all my windows have a strand of red and a strand of green on them) and I found these... http://www.christmaslightsetc.com/p/C7-LED-Faceted-Ruby-Red-Prelamped-25-Light-Set,-Green-Wire-Premium-C7-LED%27s--20337--737.htm

Has anyone used these and if so how well do they dim? If I put 5 strand inline together _which would be my first floor windows) would I need a snubber to get them to dim ok?

I also looked at the commercial ones but I didnt like the fact that they have a specific end and I had to buy an adapter.
After doing the math I figured this route would be about $600 cheaper.

Any input?

I noticed the website does not specify how many LEDs are in each bulb housing, if only one, instead of 3, might be on the dim side.

Also, would suspect these are 1/2 wave rectified, since no mention of being full wave.

I thought about that too as I was searching around and I found these that are advertised as dimmable and saw a link to them on Planet Christmas where the sales rep states they are full wave

Yes, I would agree that the lights in your second link are of a good quality, but would question the ones in the first post.

I have been using C6 leds for years very good quality and they perform really well in extreme conditions (cross my fingers) I haven't had problems and hope not to have any in the futurethey fade well and operate well with any sequencing requested of them for brightness they do the job well will continue using C6 leds for years to come

Mind if I ask which ones you are using? Store bought? Online?

I have over 40,000 LEDs. About 30% of them are C6. Love them. Have them in 50, 70 and 100 count strings.

They all came from Paul at CDI on the January presales over the past several years.

Wow I just looked over that site - like their prices. I noticed that the c7 and c6 stringer sets require the special LED power connector.... the only thing I was worried about with that is.... I am using these on my windows and there is a gap of about 18" between each window and I didnt want the lights in that gap so my plan was to make a series of small extension cords to cover that gap but I wouldnt be able to do that with these connections correct?

Not sure what you looked at. The C6 strings are regular plugs and sockets.
