How many of you guys have had to use em?

I am curious to find out if I will need snubbers for my M5 icicles and C9s. The M5s will be twelve strands end to end and the C9s will be six.

M5s:

C9s:

Ok will do. And if i have issues I can either plug in a set of incands or a glades plug in at the end of the string right?

Yes, my understanding is that you just need some additional load on the sting. I bought a handful of glade plug-ins last year (just in-case) but ended up not needing any of them. Some others here (or on PC) make some home-made snubbers instead.

Thanks, I am going to test tonight. I would only need snubbers for two stings so I will probably go the glade plug ins route or use a string on incands which I can hide in my gutters. smile.png

Dual purpose - I like it - keeps your gutters from freezing. Don't forget the downspouts...

Good! Now the next hurdle is when the lights are connected to a powered-up controller, are they completely off when they're supposed to be? Or is there sometimes a very soft, eerie sort of glow from them in the dark? This would also indicate the need for a snubber/terminator.

Good news. I tested my strings end to end and they dimmed without issue. No Snubbers needed.

We have the same lights, I dont get it? You have 4 or more hooked together? That was the magic # for me, 4. Soon as that was exceeded the snub was required. Thats interesting...hmmm

True. But I didn't test the 5mm which we both have since I am only using three strands per channel on my minitrees.

The icicles and 5mm from their site are not the same brand.

yeah.. I am happy. Wouldn't have been a big deal this year though.. I would have only needed snubbers on two channels.. now next year when I have a couple hundred channels!! HEHE.

Snubbers? Friends--we should be all inclusive in our endeavors to create a perfect Christmas-palooza.(Snicker,snicker). Seriously, while I have never seen nor used these devices,I imagine their purpose is to allow LEDs to either dim or dim more smoothly. Am I right and can anyone enlighten me?

... and can anyone enlighten me? Now you're opening up an entirely different can of worms. There are many people in this world that God himself couldn't enlighten. I'm afraid I don't have nearly enough information to answer this one...
