RaceMedic
Hi Everyone ...I am stumped on the best way to do one part of my display. Here is my design ... http://www.pbase.com/dgeall/image/123549588The garage on the right , whether I use a bow or not doesn't matter, is the part I am stumped on.I have C7 LED lights in both red and white to run vertical and horizontal to make a wrapped gift effect but I am not sure what to use as far as mounting them. The bulbs are not removable like the C9 ones that I am using.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Thank-you for your time !Dave

RaceMedic
I was thinking of something I could bolt to the edges frame that will be in front of the door but still allows the door to open.I was thinking even a thin plank of wood with holes drilled and the bulbs come through from the back.Dave

JBullard
Plastic peg board will withstand the elements better then regular "pressed paper" pegboard. Most home centers also carry the plastic type.

Most home centers also carry the plastic type.I don't know if this will work if you are going to have the door operating how are the lights going to clear the wheather stripping on the top of the garage door, I am not sure if your garage door is heated if it is you are going to have to design a new wheather stripping for the top of the door that will move when the door opens to seal out the elements, you might want to try a foam strip that can be attached to the top of the door, keep in mind you will have to remove the wheather strip that is attached to the frame opening of the garage door ( usaully screwed on but sometimes nailed not to panick can be reinstalled after the Christmas show is over with 1/2 screws makes it easier for next years show) just thought I would throw that out to you if you want the door to still operate I like the idea might work on this myself
RaceMedic
This is what I had planned ....Once I decided on what to use to hold the lights on ... wood , plastic pegboard etc. I was going to bolt them to the left and right side frame of the garage a few inches in front of the door .. that way the door can still operate with no change. The same will happen for the vertical piece.Similar to what I have seen from a good friend of mine in G-Town who has been doing LOR for years ... he uses rope lights thought vs bulbs.Dave
