George Simmons
Squeak, squeak, squeak... Okay - so history was made in game 1. Halladay joins a Yankee pitcher in the record books - half a century later! And with only a no-no, not a Perfecto. Once again the Phillies settle for second best. While the Yankees make history every time they step onto the field. How many more postseason wins does Halladay need to match Andy Petitte's numbers? Something like 18 or so? Hmmmmm... Philly pipsqueaks need to get a grip. Until they whup the defending World Series champs they're still chumps. Who's your daddy, Phillies? Huh? Who's your daddy? Guest guest
The Yankees own the Twins during the post-season, so not much of a test..and if Texas finishes off their stunner, there isn't a whole lot standing in the way of another Yankees WS visit (for the record, I'm a die-hard, life long Tigers fan..).I sense Philly is on a mission and looking for a rematch..and I sense..they will get it.I have to say, I was at the Phillies pennant clinching game last year, and it's always fun to watch another team's fans when you have no skin in the game...rabid is an understatement... George Simmons
Every team and every city has loyal fans. But there's something different about the baseball fans in Boston, Philly, St. Louis, Chicago and New York. Not only rabid, but they know the game - I mean really know the game. Anyone can sit in the stands and cuss out a bum, but in those towns you and your mom not only get cussed out, but you get cussed out professionally by someone who really knows his stats and how to use them.I, too would like to see a rematch of last Year's World Series. IMHO the Yanks are the only team capable of beating the Phillies this year. And vice-versa.

Thats a lot to over come for any team. Cincy gave the game away! SF will be a good series w/ Phi.

This time...I still can't believe that Philly didn't want him...Texas is one bad inning away from being up 3-0, and SF has two more at home, up 2-1. Both of these look to go at least 6...A Giants/Rangers world series? Ugh..perish the thought...would anyone outside of Arlington (ok, maybe the state of TX), and the Bay Area bother to watch?
