Problems with fades

I Have been animated for 4 years the first year no problems. The last to years I have had many LEDs binking during a fade which never happened before. This all started after. S2 I don't know what it can be most of my lights are full wave . I recently updated the programming software which i did last year but still had problems. My next step is to open up all my boxes and verify that they are all up to date with the firmware. Any ideas about other things to try.

Sounds like you need to use snubbers/terminators. Most LED stringers will be okay if there's only one on a channel. But when you get multiple LED strings all on the same channel there gets to be a buildup of capacitance. The snubbers apply a ghost load which makes the lights fade smoothly. You can accomplish the same thing by including any type of incandescent bulbs on the LED circuit, which act as snubbers. The more LED strings you have on an individual channel, the more noticeable the poor fades become.

Most likely George's suggestion is the best.

The fades take place in the hardware so the software has little to do with any issues with fades. However we have seen cases where the sequence file was "chopped" up into lots of small fades rather than one constant smooth fade. We are not sure how that could happen but we have seen it. If you have a particular place where you see the flicker try redrawing the fades in that area and see if it makes a difference. Most likely not but it does not hurt to try.
