Scott Henselman
I had finished a sequence with Linus and Lucy, but found that the music file was too long for what I wanted. So I used Audacity to cut some out and wanted to substitute one for the other.I could Not figure out how that works, so tried to copy the grid over into a new sequence and it came up with an error say8ing it was from a different computer, my home notebook and I was at my desktop.Therefor my second question: Is there some sort of lock that I had on that won't allow a copy command?Since I was also going to use an fm transmitter, I was told I needed to use another program to equalize the music. Does that have to be done on each song before I import it to a sequence? Thanks for the help. Amazed at how much you guys know about this stuff and this is my first year, so I really appreciate your help.Scott

George Simmons
Scott,In the sequence editor, go to EDIT > MEDIA FILE and select the music file you want to use. If you didn't change the beginning of the file when you edited it, then it should line up the same as your sequencing. I did this once (a few versions ago) and I got an error message (I don't remember what it said) but it worked. Good luck.
bob
It sounds to me like perhaps the sequence was created with an unlicensed (demo) version of the software (but also see "One little caveat", below). In this case, you can use the sequence on other machines mostly just like normal, but you won't be able to copy and paste from it while it's on those other machines. To get around this, I would suggest using your license to register the software on the machine that the sequence was created on, then (on that machine) make some little "no change" change to the sequence (such as turning a cell on and then just turning that same cell back off again), and then resaving the sequence (on that machine). After that, you should be able to use the sequence as normal on any machine. One little caveat: In addition to the demo version, this sort of thing also happened with older versions of the "Basic" level license, so it's possible that the sequence was created using that rather than using the demo version. Newer versions of the software only do this for the demo version, not Basic, so you could get around this by upgrading the machine it was created on to use the latest version of software, and then resaving the sequence (on that machine) as described above. Scott Henselman
Hi Bob: You hit the nail on the head and since it was done on my notebook with an unlicensed version, that was the problem.I added the license for my notebook and will do as you suggest with fake change ot make a save. Thanks all for the help.Scott
