cwbysfan3
Just bought the starter package, 16 channel. I have created a few sequences and would like to make the show. It keeps asking to install a SD card to create the show. I am confused. I didn't think I needed a SD card. I am running the software and controller off my laptop. Any ideas??????? cmoore60
If you can give more details as to what you have tried to get the message you are getting will help us, help you.I use a computer to drive my show. You need to use the show editor to create the show. After you create show, then you use the schedule editor to schedule the show.Chuck
Robert G.
Looks to me like your laptop cannot handle/doesn't meet the LOR requirements. The manual should tell you everything you need to run the programs. Try installing it on another computer or perhaps update your laptop?
bob
As Chuck alluded to, there are two different ways to run a show.It sounds like the one that you're trying to use (but not wanting to use) is this: Telling the Hardware Utility or the Simple Show Builder to write a show to an SD card. You would then plug that SD card into a controller, which is not hooked up to your PC, and the controller would run the show (not just on itself, but also sending commands to other controllers, if the sequences on the SD card say to do so).The one that you're not using, but I think wanting to use, is this: Telling the Show Editor (not the Simple Show Builder) what sequences are in your show, then telling the Schedule Editor when that show should run. You would then hook the controllers up to your PC, and the Show Player (running on your PC) would run the show at the scheduled time (assuming that you have "Enable Shows" turned on).For information about how to use the second way of running a show, instead of the SD card way, please see the following pages in the help file:Shows: http://lightorama.com/help/index.html?what_is_a_show.htmSchedules: http://lightorama.com/help/index.html?what_is_a_schedule.htmThe Show Editor: http://lightorama.com/help/index.html?show_editor.htmThe Schedule Editor: http://lightorama.com/help/index.html?schedule_editor.htmThe Show Player: http://lightorama.com/help/index.html?show_player.htmAs for Robert's reply, perhaps I missed something, but I didn't see anything in your post that indicates that your computer doesn't meet the minimum requirements. bob
To complicate matters, I just realized that I misspoke:The Simple Show Builder can be used to build a show in the non-SD card way. When used in that manner, it essentially replaces the use of both the Show Editor and the Schedule Editor. It is less flexible than them, giving you less options of how your show will work and when it will run, but it is hopefully simpler to use than they are.But in any case, the original point stands: I think you're telling it to create an SD card-run show, but wanting to create a PC-run show.
