timmy Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 I searched and didn't find anything on this. Do most of you just leave your controllers on 24 hours a day or do you turn them on just before time for the show to start?Sorry if I overlooked a post when searching. Thanks, Timmy
Don Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 I turn them on in November, and don't shut them down until the end of the season.(Unless it's very severe weather, that is.)
amcdonald307 Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 Just leave it on - you don't need to shut them off (as in every night).I put a Kill-o-Watt on one, and it hardly draws any power (when the show is not running at least!).
timmy Posted September 10, 2010 Author Posted September 10, 2010 Thanks for the replies. Sounds like no harm to leave them on so thats what I'll do.
RickWIlliams Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 We installed timers on all our circuits since we do not have GFCI on the old circuits. Additionally, we have several main power feeds crossing the yard, I just feel safer with no hot wires when I'm not around (It's bad enough when I'm around). The timers will energize about 30 minutes before the planned start time, and shut down 30 minutes after, one nice option with this is I am home prior to the start time and if the weather will not permit a safe show, I can delay timers indefinitely if needed.Hope this helps,
timmy Posted September 14, 2010 Author Posted September 14, 2010 That sounds like a good idea. I have tons of timers in storage, so I think I might do that as well.
