dqhall Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Can LOR have the capability to pause the animation? When I am sequencing and decide to watch the animation making sure that everything looks correct, it sure would be nice to be able to pause at certain times to confirm that certain lights are coming on or going off when you want them too. At times, the animation plays the sequence so fast that you are not 100% sure that the lights are doing what you want them to do. But to be able to pause the animation to see if the lights are off or on at times sure would be beneficial. As it is now, your only option is stop and this turns on all the lights in the animation screen. To add to this, how about adding a step feature while in pause mode. Maybe using the arrow keys on your keyboard that could step through the animation slowly watching each .10 of a second at a step. You could have a forward or a reverse step. That would be extremely helpful.
jimswinder Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 If you are wondering if your lights are actually coming on or not, why not just watch the actual channels in the sequencer itself?I would think if you are not seeing lights come on in the animation screen, it is because you either don't have any lights in the animation, or the lights you do have are not assigned to the correct controllers.
cmoore60 Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 I believe the space bar will pause the playback in the animation window.Chuck
LightORamaDan Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 We are currently developing a new visualizer. We will look into having the lights freeze at there current intensities when you click stop.Make sure to email this in to wishlist@lightorama.comDan

marquisite Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Will the the new visualiser be part of a future release of LOR S2 or will it feature in a high version (such as S3).If it will feature in S3, then will licence holders that originally bought the software prior to the release of S2 need to pay an upgrade fee?Hoping this new visualiser won't have the bugs that the current one has (e.g. night mode and zoom level are never remembered on application close)Thanks..

We have not decided what version the visualizer will be release in or if there will be the need for an upgrade fee.... As of yet we have never charged any additional fees for upgrades withing a license level. That will eventually happen but not before this Christmas season. It will be a bit underhanded to put something out near Christmas time that requires any upgrade fees.As far as bugs... The two examples you gave are per design and not coding bugs. (perhaps design bugs?) When you have particular change/enhancement requests it is best to send those change requests to wishlist@lightorama.com .... As we see them show up we take note of commonly requested items and schedule the time required to make those changes.Dan

In my opinion software ought to be flexible - so the zoom/night mode toggle ought to either be remembered on close or have a setting within the preferences where the user can select the desired default zoom/night mode toggle.I have indeed sent those suggestions to the LOR wishlist with a bunch of other suggestions (another example is the channel column width should either have a width set by the user or better yet auto adjust to fit the length of the longest channel name.)To set the stage, I'm having to readjust the width of the channel name column so that channel names aren't cut off, readjust the zoom level in the visualiser so that I can see the whole house and reapply the night mode every time I launch the sequencer. Hope you can see where I am coming from Another suggestion was to break up the toolbars into smaller groups so that the end user can move around, enable/disable the toolbars as best suits them. Coming from Vixen there was more flexibility in this regard.I'm not sure if that email address is monitored, as I didn't receive a response to confirm that my suggestions were received but if you request I can find my message and resend it to you Thanks Dan..Regards,Ryan Attached files
dqhall Posted September 9, 2010 Author Posted September 9, 2010 Thanks Dan. I will submit my request to wishlist@lightorama.com. I'm glad to hear that something is in the works for a pause in the next visualizer. Now if we can get a step feature to go along with the pause. Thanks to everybody else for the great comments.
LightORamaDan Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 We do not send confimations when we receive wishlist emails. We review them about once a month and/or when we are looking to prioritize enhancments. The menu structure will need some enhancements because we will be adding lots of additional functionality and the menus are starting to get cluttered.Dan
kzaas Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Any further info on the new visualizer release?
