TEDDER1
I honestly have searched for a good while on this subject. Started in the FAQ, then on to the forums, but did not see it. (did see a bunch of threads get derailed real quick) So I ask this question... Can you have an hour long sequence? 2 hour?If I missed it I apologize.Ted
Paul Roberson
Check out this screen shot. I tried to make a sequence 120 min long. It gave me this message. I added a 2: in front of the original time and it worked.
Max-Paul
Hi Paul, first please size down your picture next time. Its a real pain having to scroll back and forth. ThanksI think from what you are saying and the error message is this. You made a 120 second sequence, well at least you tried. It appears that for what ever reason it does not like something that is only 2 minutes long (whats with that?). But by adding a 2 in front, or 2120 sec. Which now equals 35 min and 20 sec. was long enough to meet some kind of requirements. I dont know the ins and outs of animations, I have only been doing musical sequences and the audio file sets the time length. So I suggest that if you want a given length that you specify it in seconds. 1 hour =60min X 60sec = 3600 seconds. To make it easier on my please buy a bigger monitor. I agree it is a pita to have to scroll side to side. I'll try and do better just for you. I think you are incorrect in trying to put the sequence into seconds. What I actually tried that got me that message was 120:00.00. What did work was 2:00:00.00 that got me a 2 hour grid.I don't think anything in the min or sec spot can be a 3 digit number. On the picture sizing, it sure would be better for everyone if the software here handeled the (re)sizing when pictures were posted. Do all our posted pictures need to fit a 10" monitor or less?
lightzilla
Last year I made a 21 minute sequence (How The Grinch Stole Christmas CD) and I put it onto an SD card. Knowing that the rule said only a 10 minute sequence would work.Anyhow I had a feeling that this 21 minute sequence would work on a SD card and that the MP3 player/director unit would play it and guess what , it did play the whole 21 minute sequence.I figured there was enough silence, talking, and songs in the story to fool the MP3 player/director unit. Now since the new firm ware was introduced for both MP3 Player/Director units to play long sequences I never even tried to make along one. I was thinking of the (Little Drummer Boy Book 1 & Book 2)........yes there is a part 2 to the Little Drummer Boy TV show.Probably next years project. Max-Paul
Hi Paul,Ok, well it helps if I can read and understand what you where saying about the "2:" That you added to the front. I thought you where saying that you added the 2 to the front of 120 to come up with 2120.Ha, Ha 10" monitor, gee you are a funny guy. Did you just move up from a 10" monitor yourself to a 12" monitor? And just FYI my screen setting is 1280 X 800.

I am sure someone is checking out LOR forums using their laptop with a 10" monitor while in school or something. Now if I had a 12" monitor and it fit on mine surly it would fit on yours.:shock:Guess I can try and down size any pictures to fit your 1280x800. Guess that will work til someone complains about that size not fitting their monitor. All the more reason for the forum software to take care of the sizing of pictures.____________________________________________________________________Anyway.... Yes OP you can have a sequence 2 hours long. Even longer if you like. My appoligies if my picture does not fit your monitor. If it doesn't, try and make a sequence using a time of 120:00.00 and you should get the same screen.Sorry your thread got side tracked.
Philip
I had a 30 minute sequence running 2 years ago for Halloween and it worked fine. The issue with it was that it took some time to process and save and there was a noticable lag between the short sequence that run before it and the long sequence (about 2 seconds) I noticed because I knew it shouldn't be there.Other than that, the long sequence had no problems. I have something like a 22 inch wide screen. Is this two hour sequence for your family Tedder1? It might be hard to fine people outside sitting in cars or standing on the side walk for 2 hours watching and listening to 1 single sequence.Unless you are having a "drive-in" style Christmas light show. Just think of it, you make this or buy this outdoor screen and while folks are watching the movie the lights of the yard are going along with the movie. You would need a few acres.Just as long as you do not live in a cold climate area like I do. We have frost again this morning.[it beginning to feel a lot like Christmas.]LOL.. glad you thought it was funny. I did.
