Sparky Griswold Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Hello All,Mushing through the software and getting a pretty good handle on things. I just upgraded to the Advanced Software and have a question regarding the Show Editor.I understand what the tabs are for ie., start up, shut down etc however for those of you who are utilizing these features, could you provide me some examples of how your using these features. Do these seperate tabs make it easier to run a show. I'm assuming you can create startup and shutdown sequences and run them in the musical section and the software wouldn't know the difference? Just trying to make the most of the software as I can. Appreciate any feedback. Thanks in advance.Bryan
Don Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 I'm simply using the startup/shutdown to begin and end the night with specific songs. Putting these in the startup/shutdown section allows me to program it once, and not worry about it.You could put a startup/shutdown in the musical tab, but then the software would run those songs all night. As you state, the software wouldn't know any different and treat them as regular musical sequences.
huskernut Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 I also use the start up and shut down to trigger tones that shut down and start up Zarra Radio. This plays music and announcements through the FM transmitter when the lights are not running.
Sparky Griswold Posted August 14, 2010 Author Posted August 14, 2010 Thanks Don.Appreciated the input. So with that said, I'm assuming, without having seen it as of yet, the software plays the start up file first then all the shows you program into the animation and musical sections, then finishes with the shutdown. Hence, the start up is only played once per show, then all the shows are played, and shuts down once per show. Correct?
Don Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 It's in the documentation, and on the screen, but a few people miss this each year. Keep in mind that animation (non-musical) sequences will run continuously throughout the show.Aside from that quirk, you are correct.
Sparky Griswold Posted August 14, 2010 Author Posted August 14, 2010 Looking forward to getting this in the final programming stages. Thank you again for all the input. Have a great rest of your weekend.B
