Terry Hurrle Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 I made an animated character and hooked it up to test it. I am getting nothing from the computer to the unit. I can play the sequence in the computer but unit is not responding. I tried testing the lights on the lor and nothing. When I got the unit I assigned a unit number and hooked up test light and it worked fine. Now I am getting nothing. Any one got a clue what to look for?
Ed P Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 When you plug in the controller and have it hooked up to computer, is the red light flashing or solid? Are you sure your sequence controller ID is the same as that assigned to the controller hooked to your animated figure? Can you control the controller using the Hardware utility with some test lights now? These answers would be helpful to others to help you with this problem.

Guest wbottomley Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Reset the controller and you should be good.Resetting, disconnect from wall, remove jumper on the pins at the top right of the board, connect power for 10 seconds, disconnect, place jumper back on the correct pins, then reconnect power.Something else, try a different cat5 cable.
Terry Hurrle Posted August 14, 2010 Author Posted August 14, 2010 I got out another controller and hooked it up. I can test the lights but the sequence does not play. I had them all hooked to test lights and was able to play all my sequences a while back. The new software upgrade should not have any effect should it?
Terry Hurrle Posted August 14, 2010 Author Posted August 14, 2010 I can test the circuits and the lights flash on one controller. If I have two daisy chained the second does nothing. I still can not get a sequence control the lights. When I first got the units I had three set up and they worked great.
Guest wbottomley Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 It's either a bad cat 5 cable or the channel config is not properly set up.
shfr26 Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Not to sound dunb, but do you have control lights checked?
Terry Hurrle Posted August 14, 2010 Author Posted August 14, 2010 Yes I have tried that but that did not work either. I keep getting a com port error that I never got before. Control panel will not open.
Guest wbottomley Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Until you get the correct comm port, it will not work.Go to the hardware utility and find the correct one.You must have move the usb cable to another port on the pc causing this error.
Terry Hurrle Posted August 14, 2010 Author Posted August 14, 2010 Sometimes it is the simplest things that frustrate you. After backing up and starting over I noticed the hardware utility was on. Turned it off and it worked like a charm (almost). Had transferred the sequence from desk top to lap top and all the tracks were one line lower on the grid. Copy and pasted and had it fixed in a few minutes. Thanks for all the replies and help. Can you tell this is my first year.
