testraub Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 I have my chimney outlined, but the center looks SOOOOOO bare. Any ideas? The Maple in the front yard loses it's leave by early December. Attached files
jimswinder Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 When I had a static display, I had a very large "Bon Marche" star...Named after the Dept Store in Downtown Seattle I made it after. Attached files
Scott T Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 What about a very large wreath. I bought one at Sam's club a couple years back and then added the four colors that matched my house outline. It's about 4-5 feet. Attached files

I've had it in the shed since then getting in the way while it waited for something to do. Just this year (a couple weeks ago actually) I wrapped it with eight sections each of blue and white. Now all I have to do is find a spare controller to power it this year and add it to my sequences. One more project for my ADD mind to shuffle around... Great idea for the OP's chimney though...
TJ Hvasta Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 How about mounting a flat mega-tree against it? Use green strings for the outline, then run 8 or 16 strings, single color or multis, down from the point to the base and have them run from one side to the other? Would sorta 'spin' (well, maybe not spin) but would give it the appearance..Another would be just do a tree outline and drape strings from side to side and leave always on...Mount snowflakes in an "S" like Bob Holdman did on his house (famous MusicBoxDancer video) and run them down..Mount several wreaths..Put up wire-frame Santa..Lots of possibilities..
