Kevin Wye Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Hello PC MembersIs there away of deleting multiple channels at ones below or above a certain channel in the sequencing editor? Thanks Kevin
Don Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 There is no known way to delete multiple channels within the Sequence Editor.I can be done with a text editor ... but one wrong move and you'll render the sequence useless. If you go that route, make a BACKUP of the sequence, and work from it.
Kevin Wye Posted August 9, 2010 Author Posted August 9, 2010 Hey DonThanks for the quick reply. I am good for making multiple back ups of my work. Don't want to lose all that time. What text editor would you recommend?
Don Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Simple version of the answer:Notepad++When open go to "Language" and convert to XML.Channels appear in the and section. Pay attention to "SavedIndex"Full disclaimer (to anyone): It takes time to learn how to edit the XML directly. Please don't work on an only copy. Make a backup .. and take your time.
Randy Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Don't forget, while not perfect, you can delete channels on the "Tools", "Channel Property Grid" page. You can click the red X to delete and then press "Y" on the keyboard for each deletion. A little faster that way...
Kevin Wye Posted August 9, 2010 Author Posted August 9, 2010 Hey RandyThat worked great, It only took a few minutes to do. I think I had it Don,s way converted to XML then deleted the channels or most of them. But I save it as a XML but don't know how to get it back to LMS. Anyway the job got done. Thanks Kevin
ace_master Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 I know this thread is old... but it came in handy...Bugs me that you cant just select like 50 unused channels and delete them in one shot.... but going the route Randy suggested...I found that if I let my mouse hover over the red X and held down my Enter key... it would just delete the channels for me as long as i kept my mouse there and finger on the Enter key... but beware trying this as when you let go of the enter key... there is a delay... so let go early and do them a little slower at the end.
