Cat % vs Telephone wire

Hi all:

I noticed all the lor controllers have cat 5 and phone wire jacks can anyone tell me the differnce of using cat 5 vs the phone wire..

I believe you can use either with the exception of the initial cable from the computer to the first controller. I am not sure how this works if you have the 1602 show director.

There is no difference. I use a mix of both in hard New England winters. The initial run from the computer doesn't matter either. In fact I usually use a phone cable from my computer because it fits between the panes of my storm window without having to leave it slightly open.
