song timing moves with the sequence

while trying to sequence, and song the grid does not appear to stay timed with the music, not sure what the problem is, attempted to, for example to turn light on at a certain time and the timing changes,

I'd guess that your using an MP3 file for this sequence, and that it's in a Variable Bit Rate format.

Look on the support page under "How to prepare MP3 files for the Sequence Editor" to learn how to convert it over to a Constant Bit Rate.
