Terry Hurrle Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 I am looking for some 35 count red, blue and amber minis. Anyone out there have any?
Randy Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 You could also use 70 count incandescent strings and then cut them in half in the middle of the string where there are two wires instead of three. You could use the front half of the string with 35 bulbs as is by just tying off the cut wires. You could also use the back half of the string by attaching a new plug to the cut wires. So one string of 70 could yield two usable strings of 35 ct. lights...
Terry Hurrle Posted June 19, 2010 Author Posted June 19, 2010 Thanks Randy. I don't have any 70's all 100's and 50 multis. I have decided that I will have to cut down some 100's and just black out the unused lights.Terry
Randy Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 I've done that before as well. My preferred method is to gather the unused lights and fold them back up using the original bends in the wire. This creates two "groups" of unused bulbs, and then I use black electrical tape to wrap up the two groups and put a cable tie on the end so the tape doesn't come undone. It works pretty well...If I have just a few bulbs leftover in a string, then I use black tape on each bulb and also put a cable tie around the bulb to keep the tape in place.
Terry Hurrle Posted June 19, 2010 Author Posted June 19, 2010 Thanks Randy. I will have plenty left over in a couple places. If I have just a few I have about 300 black out caps I can use. I have a big list for the after the Christmas sales this year.Terry
