i am nearly at the end of programming my first musical sequence, approx 30 secs left of 3 minutes - is there a way of jumping ahead i.e the 2 minute mark and playing the sequence from there rather than from the beginning each time and watching and waiting till new parts added in show up

Kenton,

Simply place use the mouse to place the select box at the location you wish to start from, and press the spacebar key.

You should also look at the "Play -> Play Range" setting (across the top of your screen) for other options.

Go to "Play" -> "Play Range" -> "Visible Screen"

Edit: Don beat me to it.

Sorry this is a bit off subject, but I have learned that most visitors get bored if the same song plays for more than 2 minutes. In most of my musical sequences, I have used audacity to remove the 2nd verse, or the musical interlude from the middle of the song.

I try to keep most of my songs under 2 minutes also. The human attention span is about 2 minutes, so anything over that will start to bore people and they may drive away, but if something new comes up, they are more likely to stay at watch it.

Plus it helps with sequence fatigue.

If you live where the temps are usaully about 30 below people huddle close together for hours to watch stuff some of my sequences are 5 minutes long however I do agree about 2 - 3 minutes are perfect, lucky for me I live where the temps can get below 40 ask Scott one of his sequences is about 22 min long :P

Maybe I missed someone saying this too. If you take your mouse and click in the time line on the left side of interested area. Then drag to the right side of interested area then tap the space bar, it will only play the time that has been grayed / high lighted. I like to use that when the whole visable area is to big. For example if I am having problems with a 1 or 2 second section of the music.
