Guest kenton miles Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 i am nearly at the end of programming my first musical sequence, approx 30 secs left of 3 minutes - is there a way of jumping ahead i.e the 2 minute mark and playing the sequence from there rather than from the beginning each time and watching and waiting till new parts added in show up
Don Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 Kenton,Simply place use the mouse to place the select box at the location you wish to start from, and press the spacebar key.You should also look at the "Play -> Play Range" setting (across the top of your screen) for other options.
Brandon Kibler Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 Go to "Play" -> "Play Range" -> "Visible Screen"Edit: Don beat me to it.

In most of my musical sequences, I have used audacity to remove the 2nd verse, or the musical interlude from the middle of the song.

jem5136 Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 I try to keep most of my songs under 2 minutes also. The human attention span is about 2 minutes, so anything over that will start to bore people and they may drive away, but if something new comes up, they are more likely to stay at watch it.Jesse
Guest Don Gillespie Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 If you live where the temps are usaully about 30 below people huddle close together for hours to watch stuff some of my sequences are 5 minutes long however I do agree about 2 - 3 minutes are perfect, lucky for me I live where the temps can get below 40 ask Scott one of his sequences is about 22 min long
Guest kenton miles Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 temps not usually a problem, it's summer in australia during christmas and usually hot

Guest kenton miles Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 thanks for the links geoff, will have a decent look when i get time
Max-Paul Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 Maybe I missed someone saying this too. If you take your mouse and click in the time line on the left side of interested area. Then drag to the right side of interested area then tap the space bar, it will only play the time that has been grayed / high lighted. I like to use that when the whole visable area is to big. For example if I am having problems with a 1 or 2 second section of the music.
