Guest wbottomley Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 We have been comparing strobe lights at Christmas Carolina. The topic has become intense and two video's have been posted with the results. We're comparing Creative Display's LEDs and Xenon vs. Christmas Light Shows Xenon. Here's the thread with the results: http://www.christmascarolina.com/forums/showthread.php/1001-Strobes-CDI-vs-CLS
jimswinder Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 Wish I could have seen this test BEFORE I had purchased my 50 LED strobe lights!!! LOLIt is clear, to me anyway, that the Xenon strobes look more like strobes than the LED's that just look like regular bright lights turning on and off. What do others think?
Max-Paul Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 No doubt that the flash tubes are 1) brighter 2) a sharper on/off flash. While the LED are not as bright (watch how well lit the siding is not compared to the flash tubed units). And they seem to be left on at least twice as long as the flash tube type.LED fail in my opinion.
rmturner54 Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 nice test. can u do the same tests with each strobe on its own channel. that will get the led strobe and incandescants off the same signal line.thanks, Richard

Great effect for slow portions in some songsI have and use both types for different applications. So the LEDs did not fail! You just use the right tool for the right application. The only strobes I have had fail are the ones from Christmas Light Show (loose about 25% each year and at 6 plus dollars each, really started to add up) I'm so happy to have the strobes from Paul at CDI. On the presales the LEDs were $3.50 or so each and the xenon were only 3.95 each.I'm running the stress test for Christmas Carolina group on the new CDI xenon strobes. Refrigerator and outside. I'll post the results of the 96 hour test on Monday afternoon in the thread William linked to above.
