davecarney Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 Well I have used 3 Mr. Christmas boxes that I modded to be controlled by one box. I know that with the Mr. Christmas boxes you could only load 1 channel with 6 strings of 100. I understand the limits of the circuits. Is there a limit per channel on the LOR? For example can I run all my icicle lights on one channel to free up the others for smaller stuff?

hbomb341 Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 Yes - it is laid out nicely in each manualPC Boards (CTB16PC) - http://www.lightorama.com/Documents/CTB16PC_Man_Web.pdf - Page 16Showtime Boards (CTB16D) - http://www.lightorama.com/Documents/CTB16D_UserGuide.pdf - Page 20Obviously Don and I were drafting simulur respins same time.Harrison
rjnitto Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 A lot depends on the number of strings you have and their current draw. Check your strings using the rating on the boxes or better yet, use a Kill-a-watt for accurate current draws.Based on normal 100 light minis which are 40 watts/0.33 amps per string, and then assuming you have 150 incandescent icicle lights, each string would be 60 watts/0.5 amps, you could theoretically put 16 strings (8 amps) on one channel. This would leave you with 7 amps on that controller side for a total of 15 amps.If you are running LED icicles, forget what I just said. Just plug 'em in and worry about your other elements. Richard
