toddmoon Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 I am curious if there is a simple way to find other LOR user locations? As far as I know there is not any other animated displays within 200 miles of where I live. And yes I do live in the styxs.
chadh Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 If you click on Utah in your profile, it will take you to a list of everyone that is located in Utah that is a registered LOR chatroom user. However, not everyone fills out this information.

toddmoon Posted April 28, 2010 Author Posted April 28, 2010 It is over 200 closer to 250 actually. Marty is awesome, I have dreamed many ideas off of his shows. Richard Holdman is a little farther away. He has been another great inspiration to me as well.It was actually a Christmas news story about his display that got hooked on the idea of animating my displays.
George Simmons Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 toddmoon wrote: And yes I do live in the styxs. You sure do if you live out of town. We went through there on 191 last week and except for the scenery there isn't much else around, that's for sure. Talk about a rough and rugged part of the country... but beautiful though. It's a shame there's so many abandoned properties. It would be nice if your local government could just come through with a big-ass front end loader and fleet of dump trucks.
toddmoon Posted April 28, 2010 Author Posted April 28, 2010 Out west of Blanding there is a small population of Navajo Indians in a community called Westwater. There are several humanitarian groups that have banded together to build them eight new homes somewhat like habitat for humanity. The locales are doing a lot of sweat equity to help build the homes. After the homes are completed and they have moved in our fire department is going to use there old trailers as training props and then burn them for them to help get rid of them. One of the things that is really neat about this area is the old Indian ruins. It is truely amazing how many people used to live in this part of the country a thousand years ago. Attached files
toddmoon Posted April 29, 2010 Author Posted April 29, 2010 The Anazi Indians had quite a extensive civilization at one time in the Colorado Plateau area that we now call the four corners area. No one really knows why they seemed to just disappeared from the area. Some have theorized that there may have been an extended drought. They had built extensive buildings and had a large network of commerce and trade. Attached files
