  1. Yes, but how do I make the show start at 5pm Tuesday and end at midnight on Thursday? The Hub uses the same scheduling method as the HW Utility.
  2. I recently acquired a Director G4 to take advantage of show scheduling. In the past I would run a mini-director connected to a programmable timer, and now an outdoor smart switch (on a Wink smart home system). I like to have my show start promptly at a specific time, however, it starts a bit late due to boot-up times of the mini-director, and hoped the g4 would take care of that. The issue I'm having is the special schedule that I run on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve. I have the show start at 5pm, and have it run continuously until midnight after Christmas day (for a total of 31 hours). How do I do this when creating a show in the Hub? On my programmable timer, I had 8 program slots where I could set the "ON" time on Tuesday 5pm and the "OFF" time at Thursday 12am. I can do the exact same with the smart switch, except that I can program everything from my smartphone (No more sitting outside in the cold pushing buttons and trying to read a tiny LCD screen). If this is not possible, is it because of the Showtime Director limitation? Or software design? Can the Director start a show on this day and time and stop a show on this day and time? Also, in my case, since the show stopped at midnight Thursday, that means I can't have it restart at 5pm Thursday as well.
  3. Comparison: http://www1.lightorama.com/showtime-sequencing-suite/#levels Cost: http://store.lightorama.com/s2soup.html Took me only 15 seconds to find the answers!
  4. How the heck am I going to be able to create and upload my playback file to the Pixie's to run in standalone mode?
  5. I read that the G3 Director has a internal battery to maintain the clock. The battery is supposed to last 10 years. Does the G4 have the same kind of battery, and after 10 years, can the battery be replaced?
  6. Any way of bringing back custom keyboard mappings that was in S4?
  7. Would something like this help? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01D0N7AI8/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  8. We probably would never see a native Macintosh software for the Showtime suite. I think they have mentioned it was because the hardware they sell relies on some drivers that only the Windows OS can provide. I guess in order to get a native MacOS application, they would have to start at the hardware level.
  9. Licenses can be bought/upgraded/renewed here: http://store.lightorama.com/sopr.html
  10. They are all smart pixels (runs off Pixie XD controllers- I have the 4 and 8D.)
  11. I remember in one of the beta releases of S5 I was able to rename the channels. Now I can't in 5.1.0 . Is there something I'm missing? I've tried double clicking on the channel itself (which brings up the prop settings the channel's associated to), or right clicking on the channel, but don't see any "rename channel" in the menu.
  12. Should there be a separate forum for the Pixie XD / PixCon controllers? Or should the Cosmic Color Device forum be renamed to include the Pixie's as well?
  13. If you open a ticket and ask for it, they'll send you the firmware file. I did the same for my Pixie 4D that I purchased last year. You'll have to use S5 to take advantage of the standalone feature. It doesn't work properly in S4.
  14. It's this strip: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CNL6MNM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 It's a 5 meter strip, with 60 leds per meter which comes to 300 leds. IC every 3 leds, so it's a 100 pixel strip. Well, off to amazon and find some inline fuse kits.
  15. On the Pixie 8D (2nd generation), the amp rating for the board is 32 amps, based on the 4 amp fuses for each port that comes standard. I have a 12v strip that requires 90W, which comes to 7.5 amps. Another string I'm looking at requires 5 amps. Can I put a higher rated fuse in each port? What is the maximum fuse amperage per port I can put in? Or, would you recommend that I bypass the power feed for that particular string with an inline fuse set up?
  16. The fire happened at the other side of the complex where LOR is. The only impact they had was that their phone lines went down. I assume they have gotten them back up already.
  17. In the video, I saw two different colors on the string. That could mean that it's a smart pixel string, and there isn't much action due to the limitations of the controller.
  18. The strings appear to be similar to this: http://store.lightorama.com/12vblsqpi50c1.html On the Trimlight site, they appear to be 4 wire, just a matter of finding out which IC the string is on, and then configure a Pixie 4 to use those lights.
  19. I checked it out, and I don't see any standalone capabilities.
  20. There are Cat6 flat cables available. They of course, are booted, but are more flexible than the standard cabling.
  21. I wonder if the folks at LIght-O-Rama have considered developing a "Pixie 1"? A single port pixel controller, with stand-alone capabilities.
  22. You can only specify 1 color order for all 4 ports on the Pixie 4. If you have RGB bulbs and RGB strips that have different color orders, you can use S5 and specify the color order for each port when you create the "props" for each unit ID. In S4, it's tricky and labor intensive to reorder the channel numbers for each pixel to match the color order.
  23. Yes- I've tried 3 different SD cards, all with the same results. I was using the laptop's own built-in SD card reader.
  24. Anyone having any problems creating a show onto the SD card via Hardware Utility from a playback file in S5? I was using version 5.0.16. Every time I write a show to the card, an error comes up and Windows reports that there's a problem with the card. I go ahead and scan and fix, and then Windows reports that there are no errors. I also then can no longer copy files to the SD card. Rebooting the computer helps solve the problem and I can write to the card again with no problems until I use the Hardware Utility to create a show. I uninstalled S5 and went back to S4, and was able to write a show to the SD card with no problems at all. I'm running Windows 10 Home (64 bit) with all the updates as of yesterday.
