FYI, I was having similar problem, and this post had the answer ( http://forums.lightorama.com/index.php?/topic/20127-huge-annoyance/ ) .It is possible that you may not have had a 485 adapter plugged in. This drove me nuts

This post finally resolve the last of my problems trying to get DMX to work with LOR. I am posting because this was the fix to my problem, but with a twist. I have 4 485 adapters configured on COM 3, 4, 5, and 6. I plugged one it, but it still kept switching "Control Lights" off. I had to unconfigure 3 of them, and just leave one in place, since I only had one plugged in. That finally fixed it. I have one computer running the show, and another I work from. The one I was working / testing from did not have the 485's plugged in, and I only had two spare 485's. You are right, this was a huge anno

It has been awesome, and my brain hurts. I sat in two classes taught by Mark Minasi today. So Frybread, what do you do for work?

Is the light o rama system the best?
Rick Childers replied to potash man's topic in General LOR Questions
I think LOR is the best at what they do. I prefer their software over the other options that are available. You will also be hard pressed to find better support. LOR in my opinion is the right place for just about anyone new to get started, because it just doesn't get easier than this. They are the only vendor I have seen that provides this type of open forum for everyone to use. What you will ultimately use really comes down to what you are trying to do, and no matter what I do, they will be a core part of my display. -
Do not, do NOT, - DO NOT - buy the Whole House Transmitter

Amen. -
And is anyone surprised. They will have a sale, . . .eventually.

They need to be using the same voltage you are plugging the controller into. So basically, if you can plug the LED's directly into the wall, you can plug them into the controller.

This was the first "lighting" event I have attended, and it was awesome. I cannot wait to go again next year. It should be bragged about, and the event planners should be very proud of what they put together. It was three days of fantastic knowlwege sharing, and a fantastic opportunity to meet with the other crazies that love doing this. I don't understand why there is so much bickering around here. -
I buy a lot of incandescent mini lights there, and i need green Time to go shopping However, Lowes seemed to have lower prices last year. . .

I have definitely missed the information flow.
