My question relates to how the individual smart pixels know which data applies to them. Let's say I have a strand of 50 smart pixels. When the controller sends the data to the strand, how does the first pixel know it is number 1, and the 50th know it is number 50?   4. I was just stating facts. Never said it was an FCC letter, just said it was on the FCC website... and the only place I know where you can see what models are covered under the FCC ID. Out of curiosity, where exactly do you look to see what models are covered under the FCC ID?

Yes, many of the documents that the FCC uses come from the manufacturer as they submit for the FCC ID. This letter explains to the FCC all the model numbers that use the same electronics, and as such, are covered under the same FCC ID. This was the question of the original poster: can the same FCC ID cover two different model numbers (since he noticed that the ST-05B and ST-7C had the same FCC ID)?   6. That FCC ID covers six different models (see picture below from the FCC website documents). I don't know if I like it yet as I just purchased it recently and haven't tested it out. I plan to tinker with it soon.
  7. I understand all that, but the label also gives you the FCC ID which you can then look up and ensure the device is compliant as they state it is. Part 15 also ensures that the device is not more powerful than allowed without a license.
  8. Just to follow-up on some of the FCC discussion above, I recently bought the 05B (Signstek ST-05B), and it now comes with a sticker on top stating the FCC ID and Part 15 compliance (see pictures below).
  9. In fact, your G3-MP3 can now support DMX on one or both of your ports (with firmware v5.28 or later). I upgraded to the G4-N4 version since I was already using two ports (enhanced high speed for my Pixie 16 controllers, and regular 57.6k for my wireless transmitter and high voltage controllers), so DMX will be out of the third port. I think moving head lights are also in my future, but it may be a few years.   13. So, first off, you need to have firmware v5.28 or greater on the G3 MP3 Director for DMX output. Then, when you create your SD card in Hub, you will need to setup the correct network port (1 or 2) to be DMX. After that, you just need to connect the CAT5 cable from the correct MP3 Director network port to your DMX controller. But here is the tricky part, the DMX data signal out of the MP3 Director uses pins 4 & 5 (so, the blue wire and the blue/white wire) whereas most DMX controllers assume the data is coming in from pins 1 & 2 (orange/white and orange wires).   15. ^^^ THIS ^^^ I am having the same problem with Hub and scheduled times. I set the times correctly before creating the SD card, but then immediately after creating it, if you go to edit the existing SD card show, the defaults of 5pm to 10pm are displayed (and my set times are nowhere to be found). Hardware Utility works fine, so I will be using that.
