Thanks. I'm ok with using 2 PixCons. One universe per string. Makes it easy for me. I have a 3rd Pixcon for a pixel tree. Also 1 universe per string.

Testing a new 24x50 Matrix sequence by HS. It looks terrific. The matrix I built is a little smaller 24x45. I built my frame and put tinted plexiglass in front to cut down on glare. Running 2 LOR PixCon16 and using SE to run the show. I like to see HS make other matrix sequences that goes with their 12CCR and 16CCRs. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bwkh5bbJ5UwWYjc2U0ZFdExDems/view?usp=sharing

22x45 Matrix Build (Scaling down sequences)
cjcruz replied to cjcruz's topic in LOR Software - General
Pre-cut pegboard I bought from HD has has 24x47 holes 1 inch spacing. It works for now. Next year I'll look into pixel net or something else with 1" spacing. It's not a cost factor as much as size. I tested my 24x45 matrix. It looks good for this year. Now to decide which matrix sequences to buy from HS. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bwkh5bbJ5UwWZVM2ekRzcTFKQzA/view?usp=sharing -
22x45 Matrix Build (Scaling down sequences)
cjcruz replied to cjcruz's topic in LOR Software - General
Thanks for the input. I first did try to resize. Like you said it was taking hours to do. The 24x50 sheet from HS has a 1.9" spacing which makes the matrix about 4'x8'. That's big! 1" spacing is about 2'x4'. I can fit it almost anyplace in the yard. I got lucky. My frame has enough room where I can fit a row of pixels on top and one on the bottom. That would make my matrix 24x45. Going to see what that looks like. Next spring I can rebuild and make a 24x50. Maybe someone will sell a matrix sheet with 1" spacing by then. -
I'm building a 22x45 matrix. Made it from pre-cut sheet of pegboard Home Depot sells. Pixels are 1 inch center to center. So it's not too big or small and resolution is good from 10-15 feet away. Square pixels fits perfect. Also using 2 PixCon 16 controllers. All the matrix sequence on Holiday Sequence site are 24x50. How can I scale it down to fit mine better. I tried changing rows and pixel length in SuperStar but 2 rows on top gets cut off. If I can get 1 row on top and one on the bottom it would look much better. Also tried scaling in SuperStar and that didn't work. Must be something

Question CCR How to extened the ribbon to controller ?
cjcruz replied to IGOR's topic in LOR RGB Devices
Posted by DevMike Sept 17 2014: We do not recommend extending the leads for Cosmic Color Bulbs, Pixels, or Ribbons. CCDs are digital devices - that means there is not just power running on the wires, but data as well. The timing signals sent across those wires have little room for tolerance and after about 6 feet this becomes a real issue. Best practice is to keep the controller as close to the Cosmic Color Device string as possible. This post may help you out: http://forums.lightorama.com/index.php?/topic/22738-replacement-4-pin-connector-for-ccr-to-controller/ -
I'm sharing this sequence. If there's interest I'll post download link. 12 CCR tree sequence not included.

I want to thank Dave T for his great work with CCR sequences. "Christmas This Year" has a special meaning to him. You have talent and made a lot of my neighbors and people who stop by very happy and they all appreciate your work. My display isn't the best or the biggest but it brings a lot of smiles. MERRY CHRISTMAS!! My youtube video to "Christmas This Year" (watch it in 1080p) My 2015 playlist which I'm adding to. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL8QPJacoV_JoIv3TnipXLb_qoOOsnCtyi

I was lucky the 1st flood I bought had resistors. I took voltage readings before and after each resistor. After hacking flood light I took voltage reading again. They were very close to my original readings. My other 5 floods I bought didn't have resistors as they were built into the LED driver. I picked up those resistors on ebay. I'm not too familiar with the controller you want to use. It's looks like the max input is 24v. I wouldn't try to connect a 36v power supply to it. I like the LOR CMB24D. It's more plug n play plus I get support if needed. Next spring or summer I may try hacking a 5

30W 36V RGB Flood Light Modification and Controller

Thanks Tom and you're welcome. Two years ago I modified 10W flood lights I bought from Amazon. They worked but weren't bright enough since I have a street light across from my house. This summer I decided to try to modify 30W floods lights I saw on Amazon for about $32 each. I bought one and modified it using a 36V power supply, resistors, and Light O Rama CMB24D controller. I did turn down power supply to 32V since controller power max input is 30VDC 30A. I've tested it and ordered 5 more. They've been running in my display for over a week now without a problem. I've received two different version of flood lights from Amaz
