  1. What is this "Plug and Play" you speak of? You get to work out your frustrations with the kinks in your program, PITA setup, and troubleshooting while cursing all along the way. Then friends, family, neighbors and kids say something to the like of "I really enjoy your setup. Great job!" And you can't wait to get started on next year. As they said, you end up tweaking most sequences for your display. Or make your own sequences and enjoy watching the results. You can always pay someone to sequence the songs for your display though $20 - $35 a song can add up quick.
  2. Best place to look is here: https://docs.google.com/folder/d/0B86vzf3chl0oTjdPRjRNa1oyVzA/edit?pli=1 A lot of the sequences are viewable as 16 channels though they may list more. Merry New York Christmas definitely is 16 channels.
  3. Only concern is the availability of the vampire plugs and wire. No doubt that is the best way to go. Just make sure you get the right size vampire plugs for whichever wire you choose (SPT1 or SPT2). Far easier to do than what you think.
  4. Save your money and avoid Ebay for the moment. Just go directly through LOR. Even if you order a kit you have to finish yourself, such as the PC-CTB16PC-COMPLETE that isn't bad and should take you no more than an hour or two to complete. Where you might run into problems is having the extension cords to go from the controller to your display. One channel may require a run of 50'. You may have several channels needing 20' or more, depending upon how many channels you actually will be using. Get the license level you think you will want and need. You can always start programming and sequencing w
  5. Depends upon what you need and are searching for. LOR is great though they might be out of something or have delivery problems due to things beyond their control. Perhaps Ebay, Craigslist, this forum or Planet Christmas may be able to help you if you put up a post saying what you need. Just a thought.
  6. You doubt there will be? Even the Mayans agree there will be a 2013. What it looks like OTOH, is another story for a different thread. For now, TGEU&R (Thank God Everything's Up & Running). BTW, I enjoyed Phoenix when I lived out there though the surface of the Sun may be a few degrees cooler.
  7. Should be here under Christmas Shoe: https://docs.google.com/folder/d/0B86vzf3chl0oTjdPRjRNa1oyVzA/edit?pli=1 Good luck!
  8. Anything is possible. I'd say 80% of this is all of the planning and sequencing. What do you want to do and how do you want it to look? If you don't have a clue now, wait until next year and don't feel rushed. This site and the people on it have truly been a blessing with their willingness to help and troubleshoot. Another fantastic site for sequencing is this: https://docs.google.com/folder/d/0B86vzf3chl0oTjdPRjRNa1oyVzA/edit?pli=1 Find ones that you like and customize them to your display. It has been a fantastic time saver. And most of all: Have fun!
  9. Curious as to how much you are trying to run, especially at once. Perhaps a Kill-A-Watt meter will help.
  10. Best of luck with your show, mighty-mace. Start working on the sequences now while you are waiting on your controller. Here is an excellent list of sequences which you can customize: https://docs.google.com/folder/d/0B86vzf3chl0oTjdPRjRNa1oyVzA/edit?pli=1 My show is nearly ready to go. Couple of unknown bugs in the show editor and schedule editor but I'll figure them out. It still looks awesome to have everything going.
  11. I was wondering if any of you had a 16-channel sequence for either one of the following songs from the Polar Express soundtrack. - Believe - When Christmas Christmas Comes To Town Your help during this hectic holiday season is greatly appreciated! Above all, may you have a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving with your loved ones. Always remember to "Tell someone you love that you love 'em." - Chris Thomas
  12. Another option is to change the settings. Go under Play, Play Range and click on the From Sequence.
  13. Be certain to visit the Sequences area of the forums. There are several 16 channel sequences there. LOR also has a couple of free Trans-Siberian Orchastra songs on their site. Much like you I am very late to the party. However, I have 6 songs sequenced so far. Slightly modified the two from LOR, two of my own, and modified two from here: https://docs.google.com/folder/d/0B86vzf3chl0oTjdPRjRNa1oyVzA/edit?pli=1 And thank you all for setting up and contributing to that wonderful repository of song sequences!
  14. What will people have to see past or through to see your show? From what I can tell you have two big trees in the forefront. How will they be intergrated into the show? In my very beginner opinion, step back and take a glance. What do you notice about the way your home is built? What do you see around it? Any potential home owners association or other restrictions? How many channels are you going to have? What have others done that you like? What have they done that you didn't like? Start sequencing songs extremely early next year. In truth they will take a lot longer than what you think. Wha
  15. Email sent as I desperately need more. Not wanting something for nothing, I attached my versions of Hot Chocolate and Merry New York Christmas as well.
