  1. Perhaps I'm missing something but have you looked at clipboards to see if they would meet your needs? You can save content that you have copied to the clipboard under Clipboard Management and assign a name to the saved clipboard. I have numerous effects that I can choose to assign to my props. I just select the saved clipboard and then do a paste by cell, paste by time or stretch to fit to load the effect into my new sequence.

  3. I fastened the strips to 1/2" PVC. The PVC is snapped into spring broom clips that are installed in the soffit. The longest run is 19 feet and four clips were installed for that span. They have worked well for the past eight seasons. Easy for setup and easy take down at the end of display season. .
  4. I use flat cat 5 cable and run it out the window. I can close and latch my window just fine. I do replace the cable every couple of years due to the pressure placed on the cable by closing the window. It gets pretty cold here in Minnesota during the display season and this has proven to be a very effective solution.   5. I had typed up a response to this thread that looked like below: It appears I have the same issue. The LOR Shared Favorites does not have an icon to expand the folder. Help Desk ticket was created. After creating the ticket I found a way to resolve the problem for my machine. I added what I experienced to the ticket I created. I'll let the developers determine root cause and provide a proper solution.
  6. I agree with the recommendation on the Director. I've been using one in a similar situation for a number of years. The Director has been rock solid for eight Minnesota winters.
  7. You have options: 1. Purchase a DMX Adapter like this. Or some Enttec compatible adapter. 2. Use a device/bridge that will convert the LOR Protocol to DMX, that being the IDMX1000. 3. Use a device/bridge that will convert E1.31 protocol to DMX. From LOR the Pixcon16 would perform this conversion. There are many other vendors that will sell you devices that will bridge E1.31 to DMX. - Once you have selected the way you are going to supply the DMX signal to your devices you need to appropriately configure the LOR Network Settings . Go to he LOR help file and search for DMX. There you will find content on assigning the universe(s) to devices. - Create the appropriate cable(s) to connect your devices. Pinout information typically accompanies whatever hardware option you choose to supply DMX. - Create a preview with your device/prop information (e.g. Universe and channel(s)) and sequence away.
  8. Not sure why it worked but I had a string of LEDs that would have a slight glow despite the channel being off. I saw a suggestion to unplug the string, rotate the plug 180 degrees and plug it back in. The glow stopped. I don't argue with success.

The portion of the log you show has the working show come from the folder - C:\Users\Tom\Documents\Light-O-Rama\Sequences\ The one failing indicates it should be in the folder - C:\Users\Tom\Documents\Light-O-Rama\Sequences\2020 Raw Sequences\ 2020 Raw Sequences is a folder below your Sequences folder. Are you certain you have not moved 2020-Christmas.lss up to the folder C:\Users\Tom\Documents\Light-O-Rama\Sequences\
  10. Are you using the Hub to record your shows on to the SD Card? I have a similar network configuration where the Regular network controls a number of older controllers and the AUX A controls pixel devices. I had problems where the devices on the Regular network did not work. What I found was when the Hub goes to record your show to the card, by default it puts a check mark in the box "Output LOR Enhanced channels as well as LOR normal (if available)". For my Regular Network I deselected that option, created the card and the devices work properly. From the Hub (Assuming old devices are no Regular Network and High Speed devices on AUX A) - Edit the files that will make up the show - Click on the Create/Update SD Card - Advanced - Click your way through the screens with the Next >> button till you get to Step 6 where you select the options for your network. For your REGULAR LOR network remove the check mark next to "Output LOR Enhanced channels as well as LOR normal (if available)" - Make sure the setting for the AUX A network are valid for your high speed network - Create SD Card Your mileage may vary.
  11. USE AT YOUR RISK!! Yon can open the .lss (show file) with a text editor. The full path of of your sequence is in the file. MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT ASSOCIATE YOUR TEXT EDITOR WITH THE .lss EXTENSION.

  13. @Paul Masterson I have a Word document that contains images and descriptions of the process I followed to adjust my Pixcon16. I cannot attach it here due to size. Send me a PM with your email address and I will send it to you. If someone wishes to host the document I am willing to share. The usual disclaimers apply: Use at your own risk, your mileage may vary etc. Below is an outline of what I did to adjust the props that are currently using the Pixcon16 in LOR mode to be E1.31 enabled and to add a DMX device. I used S5 for the actual work. For S5 - You will need to change the channel configuration for your existing props assigned to the Pixcon16 to be DMX universes. -- Simple in S5 just adjust the prop in the preview and open and save all of your sequences. - Add your new DMX prop (Snow machine) to the Preview assigning universe and channel information. - Add your programming for this new DMX device to your sequence(s). For S4 - You will need to change the channel configuration for your existing props assigned to the Pixcon16 to be DMX universes. - Add your new device (Snow Machine) to your sequences. - Add your programming for this new DMX device to your sequence(s). Using the LOR Network Utility - Assign the universes to either the static IP address of your Pixcon16 or Multicast. (I personally avoid Multicast as I have a rather large Pixel network and want to keep the network traffic at a minimum) - Configure the Pixcon16 to use E1.31 mode vs LOR mode - Configure the DMX port(s) you want to activate and assign the Universe(s) to each that need to bridge from the Pixcon16 (By all appearances each of the four DMX ports can only accommodate a single DMX Universe) On the actual Pixcon16 board - Adjust the jumpers on the Pixcon16 to use ESTA (DMX512 Standard) instead of LOR protocol. - If your DMX device has an RJ45 port and the device accepts the ESTA standard connect a Cat5 cable from the RJ4 port to your DMX device. - (Not covered in the document) If your DMX device does not have an RJ45 port you will need to acquire or build an appropriate adapter.
  14. Well this turned into a lot of writing/reading. I'm hoping all of these details doesn't make this unusable. I am currently not using my PixCon16 as a DMX bridge. I started doing DMX a number of years (7+) ago and acquired an IDMX instead. As I understand the documentation you are correct in that you would have to adjust your programming for the elements that currently use the PixCon16 from being LOR devices to DMX devices. In S4 I don't see a way to do a mass change which will make it painful if you have a lot of channels assigned to the PixCon16. I can do some experimentation in the next couple of days to prove out using a PixCon16 as a bridge if you are willing to wait but the documentation seems straight forward. If I take elements from the display that currently use the PixCon16 in LOR mode and instead use the PixCon16 as a DMX bridge I will have to: - Change the sequencing for those elements that currently go to the PixCon16 from being LOR devices to DMX devices - Assign DMX Universe(s) and circuits - Use the Network Settings to assign the DMX universe(s) to the IP address of the PixCon16. (In S4 you can get to this through the Sequence Editor or through the separate Network Configuration tool) To add downstream DMX device(s) - Indicate to the PixCon16 which port(s) you wish to have it use to output the DMX (By activating one or more of the Port 1-4 settings shown in your screen capture above.) -You will need to program your snow machine into your sequence and assign it to a DMX universe. You would then change the Network Settings to assign this Universe to the IP address of your PixCon16 in addition to the previously defined universes. - Connect a cable with the proper pin outs, from the defined port(s) to the DMX device(s). - If you are using S4 you will want to make sure you have the Control Panel running to make it so the Comm Listener is running to support/output the E1.31

  16. I'm going to be THAT guy. This is a great discussion of the PixieLink but the title of the thread is N4-G4-MP3 Director Documentation. It seems to me it would make sense to create a new thread that indicates it contains discussion about the PixieLink and copy/move the discussion there. I suspect there could be a number of people that would enjoy seeing the discussion but might not notice it due to the title of the thread. Had I not been curious about the N4-G4-MP3 Director I would have missed this very interesting topic.
  17. I am trying out the S5 software to see if I want to transition from S4 to S5. As a part of that process I am updating/cleaning up the preview to take advantage of some of the new features. One thing that has got me stumped is the behavior of the Lines-Connected Prop. On my house I have a string of pixels where the orientation would be the first pixel is on the right side and the input from the controller would be on the right side as well. When I then use the Sequence Editor to light the prop I just created, the pixels are reversed. Pixel 1 is at the left end of the prop when displayed in the playback window. I then decided to try to better understand how this was intended to work. I created two Lines-Connected props. I oriented/dragged each of them to horizontal. I activated the Show Pixel Numbers option and as expected it indicates pixel 1 is on the end with the blue square. For one prop I placed the blue square to the left and on the other I placed it to the right. For the line where the blue square was to the left I set the Starting Location to be left. On the line where the blue square was to the right I set the Starting Location to be right. I saved the preview and then used it to create an animation sequence. In the animation sequence I enabled channel level on the pixel prop for each prop. I then added an on effect to the c01 entry for each prop and ran the sequence. I had expected to see on one row where pixel 1 was on the left and on the other row pixel 1 would be on the right. Instead both rows have the lit pixel on the left. Apparently I do not have a firm grasp on how this is supposed to work. Does anyone have a link to a tutorial or the help files that will make it so I can get my head wrapped around this? Thanks,
  18. Pages 21 -23 in the guide found at the link Orville posted has a good discussion of how to assign a show to a trigger and how to influence how they will behave. E.g Does it play one time or loop, can it be interrupted etc. I brought up the LOR HUB and it is confirming/indicating the show number corresponds directly to the trigger with that number . I checked in the Hardware Utility and if you choose the option "Plays when triggered" you then have to select the trigger. When you tell it to create the SD card the Hardware Utility then chooses for you the show number. Thus Show 1 would run when trigger 1 is activated, Show 2 when trigger 2 is activated and so on. If I understood your question correctly that would mean the SD card you create would contain Show 1, Show 2 and Show 3. Each show would contain the sequence(s) that you wish to run when the trigger is activated. The name of for the sequences can be anything, the Show number is the mapping to the trigger.
  19. Sorry, I didn't read the question completely. In my S4 installation the ..\PixelEditor folder has a file named LORPixelEditorData.xml that gets populated when I ask the PE to create a preview from a visualizer file. Perhaps that is what you are looking for.
  20. Visualizer files have the extension .lee and are in the ..\Visualizations\editor folder.
  21. I'm not sure where you got the information that an mp4 would play in the G*-MP3-Director but that is not accurate. The G3-MP3 director and the N4-G4-MP3 Director descriptions in the store indicate they play mp3 files. Maybe the the place where you saw an mp4 would play was in reference to running the show from a computer. I'd suggest converting the audio to an mp3, constant bit rate of 128k and associate that file with the sequence to see if it causes issues.
  22. I use a G3_MP3 Director to run the display at a local church. The building that we use to house the equipment is not heated. December nights in Minnesota can get to -20F. I feel the Director is a better choice for that environment.

  24. I had no trouble applying the firmware. It was a year ago and do not recall exactly what I did. I am thinking I had assigned a fixed IP address to the board and then directly connected my computer to the device and used the network utility to find it and update as per the User Guide.
