  1. I built a database in 2012 of songs, artist, link to song. I allowed people to check which songs they were using. I fid find sobgs i hadnt thought of. Niw i go to www.holidaysequences.com to see what other songs i might use. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Svg wont help the fact that your 25x25 matrix just doesnt have enough resolution. Take an svg and put it on any matrix and you will see exactly the same issue. Try building matrices of different sizes: 10x10, 20x20, 25x25, 50x50, 75x75. Drop the same image on each and see the results. This can help u decide how big a matrix u want. To get pictures or movies people gravitate to the p10 panels. A 3x3 panel matrix cost around $250 but gives you a resolution of 48x96. Svg files do not look better on a matrix than png or gif or jpg. All that can improve it is having more pixels Sent from my iPhon
  3. I am not sure why link does that, you can go to the releases page http://nutcracker123.com/nutcracker/releases/ And manual is first link
  4. New release of Users Manual. Version 2016.27 http://nutcracker123.com/nutcracker/releases/xLights_User_Manual_2016_27.pdf Thanks again to out tech writers Gerard Machado Kevin Pankratz Steve Giron They are almost caught up! Previous manual release was 2016.22, this 2016.27. I will include the README for the versions that they added. This allows you to see how much they have to write. (or delete). The next release of xLights will remove the Papagayo tab. README notes on the extra versions this manual has added. ----------------------------------------- 2016.27
  5. Did u look at webinar i did last week on xlights papagayo? Btw, we no longer use the papagayo tab. That was end of life'd in early 2015. That tab was for converting *.pgo files. Papagayo functionality is now built into xlights. Xlights now installs with a 125,000 word dictionary Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. If you are looking to a large rgb display the I have a comparison web page showing the different controllers. http://nutcracker123.com/nutcracker/rgb_controllers/ u can get a e682 kit for around $110. Assembled $180. Alphapix, pixlite, pixcon, falcon f16v2 all are around $200. In capacity: E682 12 universes unicast, universes Multicast alphapix 32 universes unicast pixlit, pixcon 32 universe unicast, 32 universes multicast falcon16 v2 64 universes unicast, 64 universes multicast.
  7. Two e682's can recrive 12k channels (6k each), falcon can receive 32k channels. E682 sets string type and rgb order in groups of 4 ports, falcon can set yhose on a per port basis. Falcon has a built in oled display and e1.31 monitor, this spring falcon has differential expansion biard allowing lights to be 400' away. If i dpnt need the extra stuff and will be under 12k channels the e682 is rock solid. Did u also look at pixcon controller (16k channels)? I have a website showing controllers http://nutcracker123.com/nutcracker/rgb_controllers/
  8. Release 4.3.0. This is the first "Production" release. 76 versions of Beta is enough testing. So "Beta" is removed. There were a few small changes in this release from Daniel Kulp Latest releases are found at http://nutcracker123.com/nutcracker/releases/Issue Tracker is found here: https://github.com/smeighan/xLights/issues XLIGHTS/NUTCRACKER RELEASE NOTES:--------------------------------4.3.00 Dec 17, 2015 -- change(dkulp) OSX uses dynamic wxWidgets libraries instead of static -- bug(dkulp) Don't call wxYield in Glediator render. 9. new user manual version 1.2 posted on xlights releases page. http://nutcracker123.com/nutcracker/releases/XL4UserManual_v1.2.pdf this manual went from 7 mbytes to 14 mbytes, and from 150 to 173 pages in length thanks to all the authors!
  10. if you connect three strings together of 50, then the result is 1 string of 150. You can setup as either 12 strings of 150 with strands (folds) set to 3. This is so xlights does the zig-zag (which is anytime strands are greater than 1) OR as Dan says 36 strings of 50 with strands = 1. This is if your controller does the zig-zag
  11. i think i would simplify it even more. LOR devices connect via the usb port, E1.31 devices connect via the ethernet port on your computer. Ethernet can transmit way faster than the usb port, like 10 million bots per second vs 100 thousand bits per second. everyone who has multi thousan channel displays is using teh thernet port. If you are < 1000 channels you can use either one.

  13. Hi john, very nice. So similar to what I do but u captured the steps. One question? On the slide that talks about converting audacity label file into centiseconds, should that be multiply by 100 not by 10?
  14. This post will describe classes that will be given at the Expo by the Xlights/Falcon/FPP folks. I believe there are four rooms that classes are being taught in at the Expo. 15. xLights release 4.1.0 Latest releases are found at http://nutcracker123.com/nutcracker/releases/ Issue Tracker is found here: https://github.com/smeighan/xLights/issues I had a plan last february to bump the version of xlights to 4.1.0 when we added the ability to create random effects Well, thanks to Gil we are there. This release has some major changes in it 1) Right click copy/paste 2) Drag a block of cells, right click create random effects 3) The fit to time button is gone. Now fit to time is always on 4) The speed slider has been moved to each effects panel. This is in line with
