George Simmons
Hi Brian,You won't find a lot of people who'll praise the Whole House models. Some have good results, most throw them away. Have you taken a look at the Mobile Black Box models? Or EDM? Good luck.

GaryBo
BrianI have used the Ramsey fm100b for the last 5 seasons.I have had no problems and am very happy with it.It is a kit and if you are handy with soldering iron, and have a little knowledge of electronics, this might work for you. It runs about $270.00It is excellent with the additional "outside" antenna. It has reception for about a 4 block radius.http://www.ramseyelectronics.com/cgi-bin/commerce.exe?preadd=action&key=FM100BGaryBo
shfr26
I have the whole house gold edition. It is pretty much like a really good vaccum, it su@@s. Waiting till next year to get a Eclipse 4000 black box probably. The verdict is waiting on a different thread and quality on that one.

Trust me, Its simple, plug and play, from hong kong. I got mine for free. See when you pay with paypal, and you get it from the seller, 9 out of 10 times they don't have tracking from other counrtys. So when they don't send it with a tracking number, file a claim and paypal will refund you your money. lol. Its wrong to do, just a little tip. But don't get caught!Anyways. When I got this, I set it up and turned it to a station. And that's all. With the antenna that comes with it, it will expand 3ft tall. I can go just under 500yds away and still here in in stereo. But because it has a bnc connector for the antenna, you can upgrade to a bigger one at ANY time.

George Simmons
ny_yankee_25 wrote: With the antenna that comes with it, it will expand 3ft tall.Bigger isn't necessarily better. The antenna is expandable so you can tune the length of the antenna to the frequency you're using. There's a conversion sheet available if you do a search (either here or on PC) that will let you know the precise length to use for the best quality sound. VonnerNIX
I bought a mobile black box and it rocks. I forget the model (maybe 400 or 4000 something). I am very happy with it. Sound quality is great. I just need to find a longer stereo cord so I can get it away from the rest of my equipment and reduce the minimal interference caused by it.
