unzipping files

Windows has had the capability to unzip files for some time now. 

7zip used to be my go to zip utility.

Windows has directly supported .zip files since Windows XP.

No need to buy anything unless you need some advanced features (such as .rar files).

So windows  is  good  to use only want it to unzip files sent  from people using the lor forums   also what are .rar files   and are they used often  to send lor files  thank you for your replies

In the Windows world, zip is pretty much all you will see. .rar and .tar files are far more common in the unix world.  I have NEVER seen anyone use anything but .zip fr LOR files.
