I actually have not worked much with the Boscoyo Previews. But there should be a way to get the Preview to be a vertical stack or a horizontal stack. Send me an email at brian@superstarlights.com and we can set up a time for me to remote into your computer.

Did you guys try this yet? I would like to know a way to make this work also. Please advise if you figure it out. Thanks

The SSEdit.exe will work with S4 or S5. You can download S5 on a different computer and copy the SSEdit.exe to your S4 computer.  You can find SSEdit.exe at: c:/ Program Files (x86) / LightO

I have added a zip to the bottom of the original post. The zip file contains the two default image files. Unzip them into: c:/ (your lightorama folder) / Superstar / Clipboards / System

You would need to manually put in the blink.

In the default images each mouth position includes all elements of the face. You could change that to not include the eyes. Then you could add an image action of the eyes open for several seconds, and then add a short image action of the eyes closed. Then you could copy/paste that and add it end to end and the eyes would blink every several seconds.

I suppose in a future release I could have the software "semi-randomly" blink the eyes every several seconds.

You need to be a little more specific. Which version and do you know how to use it?

Since i do not and will not use any software for faces take this with a grain of salt but

From reading this IMO it would be easier to export the sup to your sequence, turn the eyes part on all faces and the color you want and to get the blink simply turn them off in SE.

I am not sure that having auto turn on and off eyes sporadically  through a song would look very good.

I like to have my eyes open to certain beats and unless I make a mistake all eyes will never blink at the same time.

Just my experience and opinion.

You can ask Brian but perhaps James or others will send it to you.

I haven’t upgraded mine in a year or so.

I am assuming you know how to use it once you receive it. Just a couple of steps you have to perform.

Any face you can make a preview of will work.

After you have a preview, you make an "image" of each of the mouth elements, add the images to the image list, and set those images into the "talking faces" dialog box.

Realize that sometimes the "image" is simply one square on the sequencing grid. If you watch the video tutorial it should help clarify things.

Brian,

When you say make a preview of are you referring to making a preview in S5 sequencer? Also can you please explain what you mean by sometimes the image is simply one square? I did watch the tutorial but I don't recall anything being said about one square. Thanks, Eric

Yes, you make a preview in the S5 sequencer. In the tutorial it shows making a preview using the LOR singing trees. After making the preview, each element of the tree is just one square on the green sequencing grid. So the "image" for each element of the tree is just one square on the green sequencing grid. Or if you want to light up more than one element then the image could have several squares in it, one square for each element you want to light up.

After doing some testing I really like the look and movements of the default singing faces. I am building another 1200 pixel matrix for this purpose. I have yet to test the singing faces in real life. Has anyone tested them on a matrix or a tree and if so what did you think? The viewing distance for my matrix will be about 70 feet away. Spacing for my matrix is 1.9 inches. Also it seems like a lot of pixels just to have 3 singing faces but I figured that when the faces are not singing I can always put some effects on the matrix.

What is your SS license , SS version?

You May have to be pro , cant compare levels right now on cell

If you had correct version of everything you can export to SE using SS/File/ export to SE

Auto Sequence has been in superstar since 4.3.34. But I think you are referring to the "Auto Sequence Singing Faces" feature. If you copy the SSEdit.exe from an S5 installation into an S4 installation, the SSEdit.exe will run just fine in S4 and you can do the "Auto Sequence Singing Faces" feature on a visualization the same way you do it on a Preview.

Also, if you send an email to brian@superstarlights.com I will give you a way to get the latest SSEdit.exe that you can use in your S4 installation.
